I’ve been a long time listener of the Cult of Conspiracy and am very enamored by how the podcast has grown into many different shows with many different styles. I love listening to everyone question reality as well as all the different theories and current news.
I only have a few criticisms that could possibly help this show grow. First, please ask Sean to turn up his mic levels as loud as possible. Often times he sounds much quieter.
Second, I recently listened to the Jesus vs Paul episode and am fascinated by all the good questions you guys bring up. The spirit of knowledge seeking is truly there. However, I’ve been very disappointed by the lack of good ANSWERS. Often times, non believers make their beliefs on the questions NOT the answers.
Ex: Why would God need a sacrifice such as Jesus? Seems nonsensical therefore it can’t be true.
This happens very, very often.
To someone who hasn’t spent their life pondering that question as well as reviewing the scriptures, it is quite reasonable that it seems nonsensical. However, during these pods, there is a lack of exploration to rational arguments made by historic and current Christian scholars who HAVE dedicated their lives to answering those types questions. Most times it seems as though only biased research is presented.
The hosts are often caught questioning why something is and never exploring Christian philosophical responses as though their mission is to debunk, expose or invalidate Christianity rather than investigating if it COULD be true. I find it curious that the correct method of examination is applied to every other topic EXCEPT Christianity.
I understand that there is a huge multitude of Christian denominations that contradict each other in certain aspects. This is why is it crucial to do EXTENSIVE research on what certain denominations believe as well as why they believe it AND what the scripture TRULY says about those beliefs.
It would be an absolute thrill to see a certified Christian scholar such as John Lennox, William Lane Craig, Frank Turek, J Warner Wallace or Lee Strobel on the show to help answer these types of common questions.
It would also be a tremendous step forward to see works from historic Christian scholars and philosophers such as C.S Lewis to be extensively examined and presented.
I’ve spent countless hours listening to “boring” debates and lectures with true curiosity. This is what I love about this show. I wasn’t always a believer and I wasn’t raised as one. I was always of the mindset such as the hosts of this show. I like to give everything a FAIR shake. All from Islam to Buddhism to Gnosticism to Christianity.
Thank you guys for all you do!
