    The Stubborn Saint -Week 4

    In our series Christians Behaving Badly, we take an honest look at the messy behavior of Scripture’s high-profile figures. From prideful control to petty conflict, these stories reveal how damaging unhealthy attitudes can be—pointing us toward Jesus, the ultimate model of humility and love. This week, Pastor Zach Lord presents “The Stubborn Saint,” examining the tragic turn of King Asa. Asa began his reign with wholehearted devotion, tearing down idols and trusting God for miraculous victories. But over time, subtle self-reliance crept in. When faced with new threats and physical illness, Asa stopped seeking the Lord, placing his trust in political alliances, human strategy, and his own wisdom instead. When confronted in love, his defensive pride only drove him further into isolation. Asa’s story serves as a sobering warning against trading daily dependence on God for self-sufficiency. How do we avoid falling into the same trap?     The Church Bully - Week 3

    In week three of our series Christians Behaving Badly, we turn our attention to a powerful and uncomfortable example titled “The Church Bully.” In this series, we take an honest look at the messy, sometimes shocking behavior of people in Scripture who should have known better. From Diotrephes’ prideful control to King Asa’s stubborn independence, from the hypocrisy of Ananias and Sapphira to the petty conflict of Euodia and Syntyche, each story reveals how damaging unhealthy attitudes can be inside the church. These aren’t just ancient stories—they reflect struggles we still face today. Through each message, we confront issues like pride, division, dishonesty, and conflict while discovering practical, biblical ways to respond differently—pointing us ultimately to Jesus, our perfect example.In “The Church Bully,” we examine Diotrephes in 3 John 9–10, a man who loved being first more than serving others. His pride turned ministry into a platform for self-promotion, pushed people away, and created division in the church. This message challenges us to recognize how pride can quietly distort our motives, turning partners into competitors and fueling gossip that tears down what God is trying to build.But there is a better way. Through the words of Jesus in Mark 10:43–45, we are reminded that true greatness is found in humility and service. Jesus didn’t climb to the top—He stooped to serve, lifting others, washing feet, and ultimately giving His life.This sermon invites us to ask a hard question: Is there any Diotrephes in me?     Liberty Sunday 2026 - Week 1

    “Liberty Sunday 2026” launches our new series, Christians Behaving Badly, with a timely and challenging message about freedom, faith, and what truly matters. In this five-week series, we take an honest look at the messy, sometimes shocking behavior of people in Scripture who should have known better. From pride and division to dishonesty and conflict, these stories reveal struggles that still surface in the church today. Yet this series doesn’t just expose what’s wrong—it points us toward what’s right, ultimately leading us to Jesus, the perfect example of humility, obedience, and love.On this special Liberty Sunday, we turn to Acts 4:13–22 and witness the boldness of Peter and John, ordinary men who refused to stay silent about Jesus—even under pressure. Their example reminds us that while freedom is a gift, faithfulness is our assignment. In a culture that often prioritizes comfort and personal rights, this message calls us back to gratitude for the freedoms we have, while challenging us not to confuse national liberty with spiritual obedience.We’ll also confront the subtle dangers within the church, as seen in Philippians 4:2, where personal conflict threatened the mission. True faithfulness means choosing unity over division and obedience over ease. As Philippians 3:20 reminds us, our ultimate citizenship is in heaven.“Liberty Sunday 2026” sets the tone for the entire series—calling us to live boldly, love deeply, and remain faithful to Christ no matter the cost.

    What does it take to raise up a generation ready to build, battle, and leave behind a God-honoring legacy? Over this 8-week series, Hero Maker, we have walked through the powerful story of Nehemiah to see how God develops leaders who rise up with courage, integrity, and faith. From a mother’s first prayers to a father’s lasting legacy, we have discovered that building a strong spiritual foundation requires the support of the entire church family. In this eighth and final installment, "Innovation Hero Makers," Pastor Billy Holden hosts a special panel and Q&A session with our ministry leaders: Worship Leader Zach Lord, Children’s Director Bailey Nelson, and Youth Director Andy Nelson. Just as Nehemiah rallied every family, priest, and worker to rebuild Jerusalem’s walls, this grand finale focuses on uniting every age and stage to build a modern wall of faith and discipleship.     "Leaving A Legacy" - Week 7

    “Leaving A Legacy” is the powerful conclusion to our seven-week series, Hero Maker, where we have journeyed through the life of Nehemiah to discover how God raises up leaders marked by courage, integrity, and faith. This week, with special guest Zach Gowen, we shift our focus from what we build to what we leave behind. In Nehemiah 6:15–16, the wall is completed in just fifty-two days—but the true miracle was never the wall; it was the transformation of the people. A God-honoring legacy is not found in accomplishments alone, but in lives changed and faith passed on. Psalm 78:4 reminds us of our calling to tell the next generation about the goodness and power of God, because a faith worth following becomes a legacy worth sharing. Through the honest and inspiring testimony of Zach Gowen, we see that pain does not have to define our future. From brokenness, addiction, and loss, God brings restoration, purpose, and hope. 1 Thessalonians 5:16–18 calls us into a life of continual surrender—rejoicing, praying, and giving thanks in every circumstance. This message challenges us to break cycles that have held generations captive and to turn curses into blessings through obedience and a pursuit of God. Sometimes the greatest legacy isn’t what we build, but what we break. As Nehemiah 12:43 shows, God’s work leads to joy that impacts entire families. “Leaving A Legacy” calls each of us to draw a line in the sand and choose a future shaped by faith, surrender, and generational impact.

    "Building With One Hand, Battling With The Other" - Week 6

    In week six of our Hero Maker series, we turn to Nehemiah 4:17–18, where the people of God built the wall with one hand while holding a weapon in the other. This powerful picture of Building With One Hand, Battling With The Other reminds us that following God does not eliminate opposition—it prepares us to face it with faith and determination. As we seek to raise up the next generation of passionate followers of Jesus, we must recognize that heroes are not made accidentally; they are intentionally discipled to both build and battle. This message calls parents to model perseverance, showing their children that before perseverance is taught, it is lived. Even in weakness, God’s grace is sufficient (2 Corinthians 12:9). Families are also challenged to stand guard together, putting on the full armor of God (Ephesians 6:10–11) so they can stand firm against the enemy’s schemes. At the same time, the church plays a vital role in equipping the next generation. Together, we help raise young people who know how to stand strong when pressure comes and keep moving forward in faith. Heroes are those who refuse to quit in the face of opposition. They understand that spiritual growth often happens in the middle of the battle. Through Christ, we find the strength to continue (Philippians 4:13), building what God has called us to build while courageously fighting for our families and our future.

    "Rallying The People" - Week 5

    In week five of our Hero Maker series, “Rallying The People” marks a pivotal moment in Nehemiah’s journey—from personal burden to collective action. Throughout this seven-week series, we’ve been discovering how God raises up leaders with courage, integrity, and faith to build a legacy that honors Him. In this message, we see that God’s vision is never meant to be carried alone. In Nehemiah 2:17–18, Nehemiah stands before a discouraged people and boldly declares, “Let us rebuild.” In Rallying The People, we see how God uses one person’s obedience to ignite a shared mission. The response is immediate and powerful: “Let’s start rebuilding.” What was once ruin and reproach becomes an opportunity for unity and purpose. This message reminds us that the next generation will not accidentally become passionate followers of Jesus—they must be intentionally discipled. It takes parents, families, and the church working together to raise up heroes of faith. Ecclesiastes 4:9–10 shows us the strength found in community, and Acts 2:42 reveals that true transformation happens when teaching and fellowship come together. We were never meant to do life alone. You cannot live out biblical community by yourself. Teaching informs us, but fellowship transforms us. Church was never meant to be an event we attend—it’s a family we belong to. Nehemiah didn’t just see the ruins—he rallied the people. In “Rallying The People”, the same question is placed before us: what will your reply be?

    "Rebuilding the Walls" - Week 4

    In week four of the Hero Maker series, “Rebuilding the Walls,” Angela Meek shares a powerful message from Nehemiah 2:11–16, where Nehemiah quietly surveys the broken walls of Jerusalem before beginning the work of restoration. His example reminds us that healing begins when we honestly face what is broken. Nehemiah didn’t ignore the damage—he examined it carefully, showing us that truth is the starting point for any rebuilding God wants to do in our lives.This message highlights that healing often begins in quiet, unseen moments. Just as Nehemiah inspected the walls at night, some of our deepest restoration happens privately through prayer, reflection, surrender, Scripture, and even wise counsel. Broken places in our lives are not abandoned places. The rubble we see does not mean God has left us—it means He is ready to restore.Rebuilding is not instant; it is a process that unfolds layer by layer as we learn to trust God more deeply. Proverbs 3:5–6 reminds us to trust Him fully, even when we don’t understand the path forward. At the same time, Luke 14:28 challenges us to count the cost, because true rebuilding requires commitment, patience, perseverance, and new disciplines.The good news is that Christ doesn’t just repair what’s broken—He restores our identity, heals our hearts, and gives purpose to our pain.
