    Growing up in an immigrant family surely is not always as easy as it seems, but is enriching in many aspects. In this episode, Hafize tells us about how she feels speaking different languages and her love for her parents' country, Turkiye. With many digressions, we also discussed the importance of her religion to her, and how she manages to navigate her way through a secular country and society.     Matteo P - an ocean away from home

    During his third year of History Bachelor, Matteo had the opportunity to go for one semester in Canada. After having wanted for many years to go and visit the country, the experience ended up making him question what home really was for him, affecting his plans for the future.     Grace O - being an Irish lectrice in France

    After graduating from a bachelor in human rights, politics and French, Grace decided to spend a year in France as a lectrice (a university language assistant) to improve her French even further, and to live immersed in the culture.     Chloé Q - When living in Canada does not go as planned

    When she was in High School, Chloé decided she wanted to go to Canada. From choosing her studies according to this wish to applying for a year abroad, she finally had the opportunity to go to Saint John as an exchange student. But the dream turned out to be very different from what she had expected, and her experience abroad slowly took many shades of grey, also striped with love and happiness.     Solène G - a French girl in Cambridge, between English and literature

    In her second year of bachelor degree in English, Solène had the opportunity to go to Cambridge as an exchange student. This unexpected surprise turned out to be a major experience for her, and going back home was no easy thing, especially as it increased her doubts on what her wishes for the future were.     Amélie grew up surrounded by her 6 siblings, which highly influenced her definition of home and the way she sees life as an individual. Between this and the opportunity she had to travel to Japan when she was in High School, she narrates in this episode her daily life and the comfort she's used to, as well as her dreams and how she views her future experience abroad far from all of this. From trying to find the right family, to adapting to a new environment and find the right balance in a culture so different from hers, being away from home is no easy thing but still brings its little joys.     As his mother's work forced her to move from one country to another, Etienne spent most of his childhood abroad, before coming back to France for his studies.     Emelie D - choosing English studies and growing up in France as a Malagasy child

    This episode is a story in two parts. President of the English Speaking Society in the University of South Brittany, Lorient, Emelie did not always want to study English. She was first attracted to Spanish, but her choices and the teachers she met in her life impacted and changed her decisions. Born in Madagascar, she moved in France quite young and had to adapt to her new culture. Questions as to whether this very particular experience has impacted the way she sees herself now are raised, as we dive deeper into how she managed to find a balance between the two cultures.
