    Episode 184: Outgrowing the Plan

Welcome to Episode 184 of The Endless Growth Podcast! This week, Alex and Edgar reflect on how quickly life moves and what happens when you become so focused on progress that you forget to actually enjoy where you are. What starts with fall weather, old memories, money, and the responsibilities that come with getting older turns into a much bigger conversation about purpose, environment, opportunity, and figuring out what you actually want from the next chapter of your life. Alex opens up about realizing that even when he is doing everything he is “supposed” to do, life can start feeling like a checklist. Work, the gym, responsibilities, and constantly thinking about the future can leave very little room to simply enjoy the present. That leads the guys into a conversation about purpose and whether having more money, more freedom, or even unlimited time would actually make life better if you had nothing meaningful pulling you forward. Later, the guys question whether goals always need to be clearly defined. Sometimes a goal gives you the direction you need to start, but once the habits are built, unexpected opportunities can take you somewhere better than the original plan. They talk about the importance of staying curious, building relationships, recognizing opportunities, and being prepared when the right door finally opens. A connection might get you into the room, but you still have to be ready when you get there. That idea carries into work and the skills we collect along the way. Alex shares why he intentionally volunteered to train people at his previous job and how leadership, influence, communication, and relationships can matter just as much as simply being good at your job. Edgar looks back at a former boss who wanted to teach him enough to eventually run his own shop, a lesson that continues to shape how he thinks about employees and business today. Toward the end, both guys start questioning where their current paths are actually leading. After nearly a decade in sales, Alex wonders whether it is time to start building an entirely new set of skills and eventually combine them into something bigger. Edgar shares his own recent deep dive into where his business and career could realistically be five years from now, including an unexpected idea involving a dealer’s license and buying and selling high-end trucks. Episode 184 is a conversation about staying hungry without forgetting to live, building skills without knowing exactly where they will lead, and having the courage to periodically question the path you are on. You may not always need to know exactly where you are going, but staying curious, taking action, and being ready when opportunities appear can take you somewhere you never planned to go. 0:20 Fall Weather Shift 01:14 El Nino Explained 03:09 Snow Shoveling Struggles 05:19 Ice Driveway Memories 07:40 Missing Being Young 11:03 Debt Leverage Mindset 12:13 Car Down Payment Rules 16:47 Taxes Where They Go 22:09 Free Money No Purpose 24:47 Purpose Over Comfort 26:53 Different People Different Minds 28:07 Respectful Disagreements 28:32 Generational Music Shifts 29:33 Taste and Fitting In 32:27 Workplace Music Rules 34:18 Environment Shapes Identity 35:08 Moving Abroad Dreams 39:28 What If vs Action 39:59 Yes Bucket No Bucket 43:19 Goals Habits Opportunities 45:42 Networking and Interview Prep 50:26 Private Investigator Gigs 53:07 Turning Any Job Into Skills 53:41 Jobs That Scale 54:50 Business Takes Everything 56:07 Training For Influence 01:01:02 Proactive Career Mindset 01:03:45 Sales Burnout And Purpose 01:06:38 ChatGPT And Dealer Hustle 01:11:18 October Plans And Refund 01:15:40 Amazon Return Scam Story 01:19:59 Wrap Up And Goodbye

    Episode 183: The Long Game

Welcome to Episode 183 of The Endless Growth Podcast! This week, Alex and Edgar catch up on where life has been taking them lately, from the challenges of building a career and creating opportunities from nothing to childhood dreams, motorsports, business, and the patience required to build something meaningful. Alex opens up about reaching the three-month mark at his new job and realizing how different it is to generate opportunities from people who were never looking for help in the first place. Rejection, timing, networking, and learning when to change your approach all lead into a bigger conversation about growth. How long do you stay somewhere before deciding it is time for something new? And how do you know whether you are being patient or simply getting comfortable? Meanwhile, Edgar has been getting deeper into a world he never expected to be part of. After attending the grand reopening of Utah's West Desert motorsports track, he shares what it was like being surrounded by high-end cars, business owners, industry connections, and people he has watched online for years. What starts as a conversation about racing quickly turns into childhood dreams, networking, Formula 1, simulators, and the strange feeling of realizing that something you once watched from a distance is suddenly happening right in front of you. That idea carries into a deeper conversation about success and how long worthwhile things actually take. Whether it is building a business, transforming your body, advancing your career, or developing a skill, the results rarely come as quickly as you want them to. Five years can sound overwhelming when you are standing at the beginning, but you do not have to accomplish five years of work today. You just have to show up today and do it again tomorrow. Later, Edgar looks back at the automotive skills that eventually became his business and shares his bigger vision of one day creating an all-in-one customization shop. That leads the guys back to where it all started: old cars, junkyard trips, salvaged speakers, Edgar's Eagle Talon, and the teenage projects that seemed insignificant at the time but ended up shaping a much larger part of his life. Episode 183 is a conversation about patience, purpose, opportunity, and the small decisions that quietly compound over time. The path rarely looks impressive while you are building it, but years later, you may realize those ordinary days were the ones creating the life you once imagined. 00:45 Sales Role Reality Check 03:58 LinkedIn Outreach Limits 05:22 Work From Home Goal 06:33 Career Growth Talks 10:20 VIP Track Reopening 14:04 Networking Comfort Zone 22:17 Tornado And Hail Aftermath 24:44 How To Get On Track 28:48 Drifting Versus Racing 30:38 Track Days Versus Drifting 31:34 Breaking Into Racing 32:11 Go Kart Reality Check 33:38 Why Racing Costs So Much 35:23 How F1 Seasons Work 38:26 Aero Data And Engineering 40:55 Sim Racing To Real Tracks 45:17 Living The Car Dream 48:45 Workload Balance And Burnout 52:35 Progress Takes Time 56:11 Body Shop Dreams 57:03 Hail Damage Wrap Prep 59:25 All In One Custom Shop 01:01:53 YouTube Content Challenges 01:04:23 Utah Shop Scene Pricing 01:08:39 Car Wash Shortcuts 01:11:18 Ceramic Coating Upkeep 01:14:19 High School Car Memories 01:19:12 New Phone Key Minimalism 01:20:54 Sewer Airtag Story 01:21:44 Episode Wrap Up

Episode 182: Make the Time Count

Welcome to Episode 182 of The Endless Growth Podcast! This week, Alex and Edgar catch up after another fast-moving week and somehow find themselves talking about everything from county fairs and sneaker culture to wild animals, near-death experiences, technology, and just how quickly life seems to be passing by. The episode starts with Alex’s trip to the Salt Lake County Fair, where carnival rides bring up an interesting relationship with fear. Sometimes pushing yourself through something uncomfortable can prove that the fear was mostly in your head, but other times, avoiding unnecessary risk might just be common sense. That conversation quickly expands into airplanes, supercars, wrong-way drivers, and the uncomfortable reality that life can change in a matter of seconds. Things lighten up with fair food, café de olla, Costco hot dogs, farmers markets, and the nostalgia that can come from something as simple as tasting chamoy for the first time in years. From there, Alex reflects on getting rid of old clothes and possessions he has held onto because of the memories attached to them. The guys talk about learning to let things go, how their style has changed with age, and why the sneaker market and fashion in general feel completely different than they did just a few years ago. A planned end-of-summer hike then sends the conversation into the wilderness. Bears, mountain lions, moose, and bison lead Alex and Edgar to debate how they would actually react face-to-face with a dangerous animal. It is easy to imagine what you would do from the safety of a podcast studio, but fear, adrenaline, and a six-foot distance from a mountain lion might tell a very different story. As the episode winds down, the conversation turns toward something they have both been feeling lately: time is moving incredibly fast. At 15, being 30 felt like another lifetime. Now they are here, and somehow it just feels like life. That realization raises a bigger question. When another 10, 20, or 50 years have passed, will you be happy with how you spent them? Episode 182 is a conversation about fear, nostalgia, change, growing older, appreciating the present, and accepting that time is going to move whether you are ready for it or not. You cannot slow it down, but you can make sure you are actually living while it passes. 0:36 County Fair Plans 01:20 Carnival Ride Fears 04:36 McLaren Crash Breakdown 09:37 Track vs Street Safety 14:12 Back to Fair Food 16:03 Chamoy Watermelon Craze 17:45 Funnel Cake and Café 19:57 Lagoon and Seasonal Creep 21:34 Costco Hot Dog Hack 23:12 Mixing Up Your Diet 24:37 Farmers Market Freshness 26:45 Farmers Market Aging Talk 27:37 Owning Past Pod Comments 30:36 County Fair Recap 31:07 DMV Stories and Fair Parking 34:18 Moving In and Decluttering 36:46 Shoe Hoarding and Color Confusion 41:36 Sneaker Market Crash 44:02 Style Tips and Boot Culture 48:55 Planning a Cold Hike 49:27 Bears Cougars and Self Defense 53:51 Bear Fishing Close Call 54:46 Moose Encounters Reality Check 56:06 Cougar Stalking Debate 57:11 Yellowstone Bison Launch 57:57 Bear Attack Horror Stories 59:30 Lions in the Desert 01:01:44 Catching Up and Workload 01:03:43 Truck Culture and Fast Pickups 01:09:36 Utah Weather Shift 01:11:29 Accidents and Neuralink Hope 01:16:12 Time Flying and Life Reflection 01:19:09 Closing the Episode

    Podcast 181: The Other Path

Welcome to Episode 181 of The Endless Growth Podcast! This week, Alex and Edgar take a trip through the past while reflecting on how much life, money, technology, and even they themselves have changed along the way. The conversation starts with something as simple as the price of a haircut before turning into a bigger discussion about inflation and how different adulthood looks financially compared to the world they grew up in. Salaries that once provided a comfortable living do not stretch nearly as far, homes are more expensive, interest rates have changed, and waiting for things to magically get better is not much of a strategy. The guys talk about focusing on what you can actually control, from increasing your income and developing new skills to finding the right balance between saving for tomorrow and actually enjoying your life today. From there, the episode takes a nostalgic turn. Yu-Gi-Oh! cards, yard sales, loose change, RC cars, childhood toys, and the excitement of getting something new bring back memories of a time when a few dollars could feel like a fortune. That nostalgia leads into stories about growing up, getting into trouble, spending entire days outside, and the small moments with older siblings and family members that can stick with you decades later. Looking back also raises a bigger question: how much of who we become is shaped by the people, places, and opportunities around us? Edgar reflects on scholarships that did not work out, while Alex looks back on a factory injury and a job rejection that could have sent his life in a completely different direction. Neither knows what the alternative path would have looked like, but they agree that sometimes what matters most is not what happens to you, but what you choose to build from it. The guys also reflect on friendships, getting older, and how much harder it becomes to maintain a social life when work and responsibilities take over more of your time. That leads into a debate about working from home, the freedom it gives you, the isolation that can come with it, and why the environment you choose to live and work in can quietly shape your life more than you realize. Episode 181 is a conversation about nostalgia, money, childhood, missed opportunities, friendships, and the environments that shape us. You may never know where the other path would have taken you, but you can always decide what to do with the one you are on. 00:34 Labor Day Work Hustle 01:17 Haircut Catch Up 03:29 Fade Talk And Barber Prices 06:23 Inflation And Cost Of Living 09:36 Interest Rates And Housing 11:36 Make More Or Spend Less 13:51 Splurging On Food Costs 16:46 Buying Time Back 20:38 Travel Vs Car Spending 23:20 Tourism Money And Events 27:13 Collecting Cards And Hobbies 28:57 Yu-Gi-Oh Nostalgia 29:54 Card Pack Addiction 30:43 Yard Sale Yu-Gi-Oh Haul 32:14 Spare Change Era 33:22 Dollar Tree Card Heist 34:32 Nostalgia Smells 35:45 Binder Collection Check 38:18 Hot Wheels and Nerf Days 39:42 RC Cars Then and Now 40:46 Spoiling Future Kids 43:53 Uncles and Cousin Jeff 48:23 Dry Ice and Liquid Nitrogen 50:16 Bottle Bomb Shenanigans 53:52 Kids Doing Dumb Stuff 54:46 Middle School Street Games 55:23 Getting Called Childish 56:15 Monroe Street Memories 56:37 Would You Buy There 59:15 Pre GPS House Hunting 01:00:34 Printed Directions Chaos 01:01:21 Soccer Fields and Traps 01:02:10 Turning Mistakes Around 01:05:29 Scholarships and Setbacks 01:07:12 Factory Injury Wake Up 01:10:44 Work From Home Tradeoffs 01:13:38 School Segregation Talk 01:19:23 Hybrid Work and Bonds 01:22:57 Wrapping Episode Up

    Episode 180: Life Moves Fast

Welcome to Episode 180 of The Endless Growth Podcast! This week’s episode is about as fresh as it gets. Alex and Edgar sit down late Sunday night, just hours before the episode is set to release, for a conversation about family, unexpected detours, getting older, and learning to adapt when life refuses to go according to plan. Alex shares why the podcast had to be pushed back after an unexpected death in the family brought everyone together in Morro Bay, California. Between the viewing, funeral, and time spent with family, the trip becomes a reminder of how quickly life can change and how moments that bring people together can come from circumstances you never would have chosen. The trip takes another unexpected turn when a delayed flight leaves Alex and his family stranded in Phoenix overnight. What could have simply been a frustrating travel day turns into more time together, new food, a trip to the Desert Botanical Garden, and another reminder that sometimes you just have to make the most of wherever life puts you. That experience leads into a conversation about flying, turbulence, and the irrational fears that can take over when you realize you are thousands of feet in the air with absolutely no control. The guys talk about plane crashes, surviving your worst fears, and why loving travel sometimes means accepting the anxiety that comes with it. Edgar also gives an update on life after getting engaged and explains why the relationship somehow feels different even though, on the surface, not much has changed. With conversations about marriage, wedding plans, and the future becoming more real, the guys get into family names, tradition, and what it means to carry something forward into the next generation. Toward the end, the guys reflect on how quickly the year has gone by. Edgar is approaching 31, Alex’s younger sister is reaching driving time, and nieces and nephews who once felt like little kids are suddenly becoming teenagers. They realize they are now the adults giving younger people the same advice they once ignored: enjoy where you are, because life starts moving faster than you expect. Episode 180 is a spontaneous conversation about family, change, fear, money, growing older, and adapting to whatever season of life you find yourself in. Life rarely goes exactly according to plan, but sometimes the detours are what remind you to appreciate the people around you and the stage of life you are in right now. 00:31 Working The Holiday 02:39 California Family Loss 04:16 Flight Delay Phoenix Detour 09:33 Back Home Reset Week 10:25 Early Flights Sleep Talk 13:26 Motel Room Sleep Chaos 18:19 Catching Up Nepal News 21:44 Cambria Finds Porsche Gifts 27:21 Antique Stores Time Machine 30:13 Flying Is A Trip 31:24 Plane Crash Fears 32:39 Turbulence Horror Stories 35:46 Small Planes Private Jets 39:22 Engagement Check In 42:30 Gun Show Recap 44:44 Scheels Store Adventure 47:10 Spending Vs Living 48:28 Car Market Weirdness 52:52 Lost Titles Identity Theft 56:49 Family Name Origins 57:18 Taking A Last Name 59:20 Lineage And Legacy 01:00:56 September Plans Reset 01:02:05 Adapting To Stability 01:03:55 Podcast Tech Problems 01:05:55 Room Remodel Brainstorm 01:07:20 Pandas Zoo Stories 01:10:33 Pig Slaughter Tale 01:13:00 UFC Tickets Debate 01:15:42 Aging Time Flies 01:19:01 Episode Wrap Up

Episode 179: Enjoy What You Built

Welcome to Episode 179 of The Endless Growth Podcast! This week, Alex and Edgar get into one of those conversations that starts casually and quickly turns into a much bigger question: when life is going well, how do you know if you should keep pushing for more or actually slow down and enjoy what you’ve built? After getting back on the track at Utah Motorsports Campus and reconnecting with his childhood dream of racing cars, Edgar opens up about questioning what he wants the next chapter of his life to look like. Business is going well, he’s engaged, and new opportunities continue to open up, but that creates a different problem. When there are multiple paths you could take, how do you know which one is actually right? The guys talk about ambition, working smarter instead of harder, five and ten-year goals, and the reality that every decision comes with some form of sacrifice. Alex shares the idea that sometimes there is no perfect choice. You simply have to decide which regrets you are willing to live with while focusing on the things you can actually control. That leads into a conversation about looking backward instead of always forward. Both Alex and Edgar realize that many of the things they once wanted are already part of their lives today, raising an important question: how often do we actually stop long enough to appreciate what we spent years working toward? From there, the conversation shifts toward technology, scams, and social media. They discuss how AI can be used to manipulate people, why social platforms are so difficult to put down, and what constantly consuming short-form content may be doing to our attention spans. Alex explains why he has intentionally stepped away from posting so much of his life online after realizing he was spending vacations thinking about what to share instead of actually enjoying the moment. Edgar shares his own experience becoming increasingly disconnected from social media, and the guys talk about comparison, validation, relationships, preserving memories, and why taking a picture does not mean it needs to be posted. Episode 179 is a conversation about ambition, uncertainty, technology, memories, and learning to be present. Sometimes growth is not about doing more. Sometimes it is recognizing how far you have already come and deciding what you actually want the next chapter of your life to look like. 00:18 Red Lights and LA Driving 02:38 Track Day at UMC 04:34 Business Doubts and Growth 06:41 Choosing Your Regrets 08:35 Balancing Work and Life 15:14 Journaling for Clarity 17:30 Career Paths and Uncertainty 22:23 Podcast Merch Brainstorm 25:10 Hats vs Shirts Pricing Talk 28:02 Hat Embroidery Costs 28:24 Why Design Matters 30:02 Building a Brand Team 30:43 Shipping and Returns Headaches 33:15 Time Hacks and Bathroom Breaks 35:52 Employer vs Employee Perspective 40:10 Ogden vs Salt Lake Debate 45:05 West Valley Horror Stories 48:10 Facebook Marketplace Scams 51:02 Tech Addiction and AI Fraud 54:54 Quitting Reels and Comparison Trap 56:25 Quitting Social Media 58:03 Snapchat Nostalgia 59:12 Posting After Breakups 01:00:10 Living In The Moment 01:01:46 Scrapbooks And Collages 01:04:59 Digital Photo Frames 01:08:02 Snapchat Trust Issues 01:09:38 How Things Begin 01:11:38 Life Cart Analogy 01:13:03 Concerts And Music Fuel 01:15:47 Gym Mindset And Etiquette 01:17:53 Ambiance And Crowds 01:20:17 Wrapping Up The Pod

    Episode 178: She Said Yes

Welcome to Episode 178 of The Endless Growth Podcast! This week, Alex and Edgar kick things off by reflecting on their conversation with Don from Don’s Garage and what it really takes to keep pushing when you’re building something from the ground up. They talk about the grind behind entrepreneurship, why hard work alone does not guarantee success, and how business, relationships, family, and life circumstances can all affect whether something ultimately works out. That conversation takes an unexpected turn into divorce, business ownership, and what happens when the thing you built becomes one of the biggest assets on the table. From there, Edgar flips the conversation completely and officially shares some big news: he’s engaged. Edgar breaks down his last-minute trip to Maui, carrying the ring around without Ale knowing, and how a spontaneous stop along the Road to Hana turned into the perfect proposal. He also talks about why the surprise mattered to him, what being engaged feels like now that it’s official, and why there may never be a “perfect time” for major life decisions like marriage, family, or taking the next step. Of course, the episode takes plenty of turns along the way. The guys talk expensive colognes, golf, Hawaii waves, swimming, luxury stores, project cars, and why some hobbies can become serious money pits. Later, the conversation shifts toward money, convenience, and the balance between saving for the future and actually enjoying the life you’re working so hard to build. Edgar debates whether it is finally time to replace his aging truck instead of continuing to pour time and money into repairs, while Alex shares the painful conclusion to his month-long mattress saga that ended with him paying more anyway. They also discuss the hidden cost of always choosing the cheapest option, why time can sometimes be more valuable than money, and how easy it is to give other people advice that you are not following yourself. Episode 178 is a mix of business, relationships, money, travel, hobbies, and one major life update, all centered around the same question: what is the point of working toward a better life if you never allow yourself to actually enjoy it? 01:21 Grinding And Breakthroughs 02:57 Why Businesses Fail 05:04 Divorce And Business Risk 06:47 Prenups And Splitting Assets 09:55 Selling A Day Job Business 13:38 Engaged In Maui 17:17 Proposal Planning And Surprise 21:20 Road To Hana Proposal Spot 26:58 Wedding Plans And Timeline 28:32 Timing the Wedding and Family 29:28 Hawaii Souvenir Mug Reveal 31:20 Window Shopping Luxury Stores 33:31 Louis Vuitton Cologne Culture 36:17 High End Fragrance Rabbit Hole 41:34 Golf as the Next Office Hobby 43:03 Hawaii Waves and Island Sides 43:38 Sunset Sailboat Dinner Tour 45:55 Honeymoon Injury and Gym Bro Tales 48:57 Swimming, Floating, and Ocean Fear 53:07 Hawaii Waves Talk 54:04 Direct Flights Debate 55:48 Convenience Over Cheap 59:52 Truck Upgrade Dilemma 01:07:10 Project Car Daydreams 01:10:38 Mattress Deal Disaster 01:16:08 Rental Claim Headaches 01:17:58 Gift Cards And Revenue 01:19:07 Episode Wrap Up

Episode 177: Built After Hours (Featuring Don's Garage)

Welcome to Episode 177 of The Endless Growth Podcast! This week, Alex and Edgar sit down with Don, owner of Don’s Garage and Mobile Services, to talk about turning years of mechanical experience into a growing business and what it really takes to build something of your own. Don shares how his interest in cars started at a young age, eventually leading him into transmission work, automotive school, and more than a decade in the industry. What began as side jobs for friends and family slowly grew into Don’s Garage, first out of a small garage in West Ogden and now into a business that has reached the point where his full-time job is starting to get in the way of its growth. The conversation dives into the reality behind that growth. Don talks about working his regular job during the day and then taking mechanic calls at night, on weekends, and even during lunch breaks. He shares why he rarely says no to an opportunity, how small jobs can turn into lifelong customers, and why young people trying to start a business should focus on learning the craft before chasing the money. Of course, running a mobile mechanic business also comes with some wild stories. Don tells the guys about rescuing a cat trapped inside a dashboard after police couldn't get it out, helping stranded travelers with 10 dogs after another mechanic left them stuck for days, and taking roadside calls that sometimes mean working just feet away from freeway traffic. From there, things get even more interesting. Don shares the story behind a wrecked Jet Ski he bought that had been involved in a fatal accident, his plans to bring it back to life, and his obsession with anything that gets the adrenaline going. That leads into trash car racing, where Don, his wife, and his dad race reinforced junk cars around a muddy oval while trying to push competitors off the track. The episode also explores how Don has used social media to grow his reputation. By posting raw videos, going live during repairs, and showing customers exactly what goes into the work, he has built trust in an industry where mechanics are often viewed with skepticism. Some customers now specifically ask him to record their repairs because the behind-the-scenes transparency has become part of the Don’s Garage experience. Whether you’re building a business, working toward eventually leaving your job, interested in cars, or just enjoy hearing stories from someone willing to take the calls nobody else wants, this episode is packed with lessons, laughs, and a look inside the grind behind Don’s Garage.
