On this episode David & Crissy share the story of how Titan Solar Power was born in 2013 out of necessity to solve some major problems in the industry. David came into this venture with 20+ years of sales experience leading up to him being in an in home solar sales manager, which is where he first was introduced to the solar industry. Nearly 10 years ago the residential solar industry was very different than it is today. Almost everything was bootstrapped and leaders across the industry were doing their best to figure out how to make things work as seamlessly as possible to provide a great experience for everyone involved in the process, despite that not always being the case. Just like at the beginnings of any new industry scaling in ways never before seen, volume exposed problems that needed clear and immediate solutions. It was at this point that Titan was launched and the vision began to came to fruition. As you will hear they learned quite a bit along the way and are still learning and receiving feedback on a daily basis. When Crissy joined the team she filled a vital role from the very beginning. Crissy handled and scaled process after process learning everything she could about the business to make sure that the internal side could support all of the sales growth that was happening from sales dealers that started to flock in from all over the country. The dynamic between the two of them will keep you laughing and engaged throughout the entire episode. It was a pleasure to get to meet you both and learn a bit more about the Titan story! The quote that Riley referenced in this episode by the former CEO of GE Jack Welch “Never let a good crisis go to waste” perfectly describes the beginnings of his company Boundless. When the pandemic hit, he knew that there would be a shake up in the way customer facing businesses like solar were currently operating. At this point he took it upon himself to figure out a new way for himself and the people that followed him to continue to be successful. The relationships and opportunities that presented themselves during this time of massive uncertainty were the reasons why his company was able to grow to heights most never reach as quickly as it did while starting during a global pandemic. You will get the sense during this episode that Riley has a unique ability to see the field, get the right people into the right seats, and the plays that need to be made in order for the vision to be executed.
