82: I Love Summer So Much That I Grieve It Every Year

Summer doesn’t just end, it disappears, and if you’re a parent you can feel it in your bones. Tajuana hops on for a raw solo check-in from home (with a sick kid nearby) and talks about why the last weeks of summer can bring real sadness, not just mild nostalgia. Warm weather, long evenings, pool days, and that no-routine freedom can make us feel like our best selves, and saying goodbye to it can feel like a yearly grieving process. We also get honest about big life transitions: this being Tajuana's last summer in her 30s, turning 40 soon, and watching kids move into new stages like second grade and “big school.” That mix of gratitude and ache is so familiar in motherhood and adulthood, where you’re trying to stay present while the calendar keeps sprinting forward. If you’ve ever thought, “Why can’t I just let the season go?” you’ll recognize yourself here. Then we zoom out to Fall. We love the cozy parts, pumpkin rules included, and we also name the other side: back-to-school pressure, packed schedules, and the dread that can come with shorter days, daylight savings time, and seasonal depression. Tajuana also shares why 9/11 still brings heavy emotions, and how certain dates remind us that time keeps moving, whether we’re ready or not. Listen, then come talk to us. Subscribe to Turn the Paige Podcast, share this with a friend who’s also mourning Summer, and leave a review so more people can find the show. What do you do to cope when the season shifts? 81: What If The Best Decade Starts Now

Forty is close enough to feel it in your bones and sometimes in your lower back too. Tajuana goes solo and tells the truth about what it feels like to stand at the edge of a new decade as an elder millennial: grateful for the life you built, surprised by how fast time moved, and a little shaken by the question, “What’s next?” If you have ever felt nervous about turning 40, or you never fully pictured your life past 30, you will feel seen here.  We talk about the unglamorous parts that still shape everything, like chronic back pain, stress, and cycle-related flare ups, plus what it looks like to actually listen to your body. Tajuana shares a late ADHD diagnosis, how medication and self-awareness change the inner narrative, and why hormone tracking, perimenopause curiosity, and mental health support can belong in the same conversation. The bigger theme is boundaries: caring less about opinions, saying no when it is not a hell yes, and choosing self-care without guilt.  There is also a playful side to growth. We get into trying new things that once felt “woo-woo” like a psychic reading, tarot, and a medium, alongside everyday experiments like acupuncture, a weighted blanket, and a planner system that finally clicks. You will also hear about the parenting shift when both kids are in school, the freedom that creates, and the logistics that multiply overnight. We zoom out to building the Turn The Paige community through the podcast and book club, and even how AI tools like ChatGPT can help when you need a starting point.  If something here sparks a thought, share it with a friend who is entering a new decade, then subscribe, leave a review, and tell us what you are bringing into your next chapter. 80: What If Your Taste In Wine Is Really About You (ft. Jamicia Stamps)

Wine can get weirdly intimidating fast. One person is talking about tannins and decanters, another is judging your grocery store bottle, and meanwhile you just want something that tastes good after a long day. We’re changing that energy with Jamicia Stamps, the wine-loving creator behind SelecTaste LLC (@_selectaste), who joins us for a fun, honest chat that makes wine feel approachable, personal, and way less serious. We talk about how she got deeper into wine through her part-time job at Total Wine and More, what those wine classes are really like, and why tasting flights are structured from lighter pours to bolder reds. You’ll hear our real preferences (Riesling fans, sparkling lovers, rosé loyalty, and a few “I’m still learning red” confessions), plus how your palate can shift from sweet wine to drier styles over time. We also get into easy wine pairing ideas, including wine and cheese, snacks, and the simple truth that you can pair what you like with what you’re eating. Then we zoom out into the experience side of wine: Virginia wineries, wine tours, the Virginia Wine Expo, and bucket-list wine travel like Sicily, Italy, and Napa Valley. We even touch on orange wine, celebrity bottles, and why shipping wine can turn into a whole saga.  Grab your favorite glass and hang with us for a conversation that feels like friends at the table.  If you enjoyed it, subscribe, share with a fellow wine lover, and leave us a review. 79: (THROW BACK) 1: That Was A Wild Ride

THROW BACK to our very first episode! *Originally aired August 23, 2023* https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/turn-the-paige-podcast/id1677891195?i=1000625345337 “Bounce back” to what, exactly? We’re Tajuana and Sheree sisters, best friends, and full-time working moms, and we’re starting Turn The Page Podcast the same way we live our lives: honest, a little chaotic, and hungry. We open with our weekly rose and thorn, from bridal expo fun and sneaking away for tacos to the grind of going back to work when you miss being home with your baby during the day.  From there, we get into postpartum body image and the pressure moms feel to look a certain way after pregnancy. We talk about movement without shame, why “I want to feel good” is a better north star than chasing a specific weight, and how diet culture shows up through restriction, cravings, and guilt. We share practical nutrition reflections too, including protein struggles, why oatmeal doesn’t always keep you full, and small ways to make breakfast more balanced when your mornings revolve around naps and noise.  Then we turn the page to two big parts of modern motherhood: staying connected and feeding your baby. We talk therapy, mom brain, postpartum support groups, and building in quarterly “adult time” so we don’t lose ourselves. We also dig into breastfeeding vs formula, pumping around the clock, the “breast is best” messaging, and why mental health has to come first. And yes, we share a teenage secret about taking the bus from the Cherry Hill Mall into Philly.  Subscribe, share with a fellow mom, and leave a review if this felt real to you. What part of motherhood do you wish people talked about more? 78: Healing Back to Your Hobbies

Motherhood can be loud enough to drown out the quiet parts of you, including the parts that used to make things just because it felt good. We’re holding onto one line that hit us hard: “heal so deeply that you can do your hobbies again.” Not as a cute quote, but as a real target for women who’ve been in survival mode, especially in postpartum life when time, sleep, and bandwidth feel like myths. We talk through what creativity used to look like for us and how it changed across college, adulthood, and parenting. Then we reframe creativity in a way that actually fits modern schedules: reading, cooking, arranging a home, taking photos, building community, and even creating content can count. We’re honest about social media too, because it can be toxic and triggering, yet still help us stay connected, find mom friends, and build supportive spaces like Bookstagram and mental health pages. Postpartum mental health runs underneath all of it. We share how sleep deprivation and the four-month sleep regression can tank motivation and how “I can’t even do the thing that helps me” can be a red flag worth paying attention to. We also get into postpartum body image and non-traditional fitness, chasing movement that feels like fun instead of punishment, plus the simple pillars we watch to stay grounded: creativity, moving our bodies, and reading. If any of this feels familiar, come listen, then tell us what’s working for you right now.  Subscribe, share with a friend who needs it, and leave a review so more moms can find the conversation. 77: Surviving The Postpartum Shuffle

Sleep-deprived parenting has a special way of making everything feel urgent, from a baby rolling over at 2 a.m., to a toddler quietly wandering the hallway. We’re Tajuana and Sheree, and we’re back together talking through the real stuff: postpartum survival, the mental load, and the tiny systems that keep our days from spinning out. We get honest about mental health after baby, including ADHD medication logistics, PMDD weeks, and what it’s like to tweak Zoloft while you’re still trying to function at work and at home. We also zoom in on the “small but huge” topics that parents rarely compare notes on, like whether your week starts on Sunday or Monday, and how a pill organizer can either save you or sabotage you. From there, we bounce through community and connection: virtual book club dreams, in-person meetups, and the awkward truth that making mom friends can feel like speed dating with strollers. We also talk practical postpartum problem-solving, including screen-related headaches, new glasses and blue light lenses, sleep regression realities, rolling and swaddle transitions, and the safety anxiety that comes with kids who can open doors and find the stairs. We wrap with what self-care actually looks like right now: skincare when we can, fresh air when the weather allows, and tools that help us feel a little more human. If this felt relatable, subscribe, share it with a friend who needs a laugh, and leave us a review. What’s one “tiny fix” that’s saving your sanity lately? 76: What If Building Her Self Esteem Heals Mine Too

Raising a daughter can feel like the sweetest kind of time travel and the most intense kind of pressure. One minute we’re laughing at mismatched outfits and high fives for tiny wins, and the next we’re staring down the reality of sending our little girl into a world that can be harsh to girls and especially harsh to Black girls. That tension sits at the center of this solo conversation: how do we protect our kids without shrinking them, and how do we build confidence without pretending we’re never insecure? We get personal about the unexpected ways motherhood brings up our own childhood memories. Watching a little girl sing her heart out, create, dance, and play can be healing, but it can also expose the parts of us that learned to quiet down. We talk about inner child healing, why patience and grace matter so much with “big feelings,” and how discipline starts to look different when the goal is emotional regulation with real boundaries. You’ll hear practical language we use at home, including the idea that kids can be mad while still learning to be respectful. We also dig into modeling, because kids are watching everything: skincare routines, mirror moments, self talk, and the casual comments adults make about bodies and food. We share what we’re changing now to break cycles and build a foundation of self-esteem before the tough years hit. And with preschool around the corner, we talk through the nerves of trusting new adults, helping kids make friends, and using encouragement to grow bravery one small step at a time. If any of this hits home, listen through and then share it with a parent who needs to feel less alone.  Subscribe, leave a review, and tell us what’s been the hardest or most healing part of raising your kids so far. 75: The 3 A.M. Survival Guide

3 A.M., can make you feel like you’re the only person awake on the planet, holding a baby in the dark and wondering how you’ll do tomorrow on this little sleep. Sheree jumps on for a solo, real-life check-in from the postpartum newborn trenches and shares what’s genuinely helping her navigate sleepless nights with a newborn plus an older kid in the mix. We talk about the mindset shifts that change everything when you’re spiralling at night: remembering that this season will pass, reframing wakeups as normal newborn biology, and giving yourself permission to admit when you can’t access the “positive” perspective. From there, we get practical. Sheree breaks down the small tools that keep her regulated and sane, like building a grab-and-go nightstand survival station with earbuds for podcasts and audiobooks, water and snacks, white noise, comfort items, and quick mantras that bring you back to centre. She also shares why scrolling can blow up your sleep and what to reach for instead when you need distraction without the dopamine hit. You’ll also hear a simple checklist for those frantic moments when baby won’t settle, plus soothing resets that help both parent and baby, like fresh air, water, rocking, walking, and humming.  Sheree explains the heart behind her digital 3 A.M. Survival Guide in our Etsy shop, designed to feel like a supportive sister or best friend on the nights your village is asleep. If you know a new mom, a “new again” mom, or any sleep-deprived parent, share this with them.  Subscribe, leave a review, and tell us what gets you through the hardest hour.
