    Metro Council Special Called Informational Meeting on Redistricting

    Jeremiah here! I'm testing out setting up a podcast feed, so if you see this go ahead and subscribe for episodes of the new podcast once we start production. For now, this is the full audio of the redistricting information session held by Metro Council on March 16, 2023. The session begins with a presentation from Council Director Margaret Darby on the legal implications of recent state legislation, followed by some Q&A for Director Darby, City Law Director Wally Deitz, and Administrator of Elections Jeff Roberts. Next, Advanced Planning and Research Manager Greg Claxton gives a presentation on the planning department's approach to redistricting taking into account the short timeline and various legal requirements. This is followed by another session of wide ranging Q&A.
