    #55: Don’t Wait for the Wake-Up Call

In this episode, I reflect on something I realized recently: many of us only start growing after life hits us with a major event — a breakup, rejection, losing a job, or losing someone we love. Those moments isolate us, force us to look inward, and suddenly we reconnect with ourselves, with our purpose, and with something deeper. But the real question is: why do we wait for the snowball to hit us? Why do we wait for dramatic events to finally make changes in our lives? Why do we wait until pain pushes us to grow, instead of choosing growth intentionally? I talk about how staying connected to your inner power — your values, your intuition, your source — allows you to evolve without needing a crisis to wake you up. When you focus on your own growth, you don’t lose yourself in relationships, in jobs, or in other people’s expectations. And when you elevate, one of two things happens:  Either the people around you grow with you, inspired by your change — or you naturally grow apart. And that’s okay, because when you elevate, something better is always waiting at the next level. I also share a personal reflection about a moment last year when I lost a contract and felt devastated at the time — but now I can clearly see how it was a wake-up call I could have avoided if I had listened to my body earlier and prioritized my growth sooner. This episode is a reminder that you don’t have to wait for life to break you open before you evolve. Let this be your wake-up call before the actual wake-up call. Because the more you commit to your growth today, the less pain you need tomorrow to push you forward.

#54: The Fear of Hope: How Old Wounds Make Us Self-Sabotage

In this episode, I share a realization that changed the way I understand my own patterns. I noticed something painful but important: when things start getting really good, a part of me gets scared. Not because I don’t want happiness — but because being hopeful has hurt me before. Over time, disappointment can quietly become part of our identity. And when life begins to move in the direction we once dreamed of, our nervous system doesn’t always recognize it as safe. Instead of enjoying it, we start questioning it, picking it apart, or even sabotaging it — just to protect ourselves from the possibility of being hurt again. I experienced this recently around my birthday. The people closest to me — my partner, my sister, and my family — made it one of the most thoughtful and meaningful celebrations I’ve ever had. The planning, the gifts, the moments we shared, the dinner, the spa, the little details… it was everything I didn’t even realize I needed. But the night before, I had a complete crash emotionally. I realized that part of me was terrified to be hopeful again. My mind was looking for problems, trying to convince me it wouldn’t work out, because that’s what it had learned to expect. What I’m reflecting on in this episode is how our wounds can make us resist the very happiness we want — and how healing sometimes looks like letting ourselves experience joy, even when it feels unfamiliar. More than anything, this episode is about gratitude. Gratitude for the people who stayed patient with me, who helped my nervous system feel safe enough to experience love, care, and abundance in a deeper way. And realizing that maybe healing isn’t just about surviving pain —  it’s about learning how to receive the good when it finally arrives.
