If Thou Dislik'st What Thou First Light'st On -Dean Young fr First Course in Turbulence I had come to the house, in a cave of trees,I had dreamed of the perfect gray pants,I have a life that did not become,a young sister made of glass.I have done it again.I like a church, I like a cowl,I like the look of agony.I love the old melodious lays,I love it when they demonstrate the oxygenmasks, never messing up their hair.I met the Bishop on the road,In a coign of the cliff between high and low,In a dark time,Among wolves and periwinkles,In a station of the metro,In Breughel's great painting, The Kermess.Indeed I must confess,Indigo, magenta, color of ghee, what the hell is the color of ghee?In June amid the golden fields,In some unused lagoon, some nameless bay,In spite of all the learned say,In the depths of the Greyhound station,In this world, this isle of dreams,Intimations of mortality,In unexpected infancy,In vain, in vain—the all composing hours.Yadda yadda yadda.I saw the best minds of my generation etcetera,I saw spiders marching through the airbut let's skip this part, okay? The usual taste of liquor never brewed, the usual It is June, it is June,it is ten years since we rowed,it is 12:20 in New York a Fridaybut seems it out of battle I escapedand now I wander lonely as a cloud.I was angry with a friend,I went into the public ‘ouse for a pint o’ beer,I went to the Garden of Lovebut I wonder, do you feel today as I docaught in an index's apparatus of a thousandversions of myself but not sure I even exist?Dawns and hangovers and phone calls, nothing but silence on the other end.All this fog, a jar in Tennessee, torchesgoing out. Go down any road far enoughand you'll come to a slaughterhouse, but keep going and you'll reach the sea. x fr The Visible Man by Henri Cole To write what is human, not escapist:that is the problem of the hand movingapart from the bodyYet, subject isonly pretext for assembling the wordswhose real story is process is flow.So the hand lurches forward, gliding backserenely, radiant with tears, a millionbeings and objects hypnotizing meas I sit and stare. Not stupefied. Not aching.Today I am one. The hand jauntilyat home with evil, with unexamined feelings, with just facts.Mike and body, like spikes, like love and hate, recede pleasantly.Do not be anxious. The land remembers them. Evolution from the Fish This grandson of fishes holds inside himA hundred thousand small black stones. This nephew of snails, six feet long, lies naked on a bedWith a smiling woman, his head throws off lightUnder marble, he is moving toward his own lifeLike fur, walking. And when the frost comes, he isFur, mammoth fur, growing longerAnd silkier, passing the woman's dormitory,Kissing a stomach, leaning against a pillar,he moves toward the animal, the animal with furry head! What a joy to smell the flesh of a new child!Like new grass! And this long man with the student girl,Coffee cups, her pale waist, the spirit moving around them,Moves, dragging a great tail into the darkness. In the dark we blaze up, drawing picturesOf spiny fish, we throw off the white stones!Serpents rise from the ocean floor with spiral motions,A man goes inside a jewel, and sleeps. DoNot hold my hands down! Let me raise them!A fire is passing up through the soles of my feet!— Robert Bly Cynthia's Site, Insta Mentions: Okay Donkey Psaltery & Lyre Good people doing good things ---> Random Acts' Lantern Fund, How to Help MN Master List , How to Perform an Act of Kindness Locally Food Not Bombs, INARA, MAP, Islamic Relief for Palestine, The Ghassan Abu Sittah Children's Fund Legacy of War Foundation UNHCR, *I own and profit off nothing in this bizarre hubristic venture. the pleasures of the damned by charles bukowski the pleasures of the damnedare limited to brief momentsof happiness:like the eyes in the look of a dog, like a square of wax, like a fire taking the city hall, the county, the continent, like fire taking the hairof maidens and monsters;and hawks buzzing in peach trees, the sea running between their claws,Timedrunk and damp, everything burning, everything wet, everything fine. Searching for a Trail

Surprised By Evening by Robert Bly There is unknown dust that is near usWaves breaking on shores just over the hillTrees full of birds that we have never seenNets drawn with dark fish. The evening arrives; we look up and it is thereIt has come through the nets of the starsThrough the tissues of the grassWalking quietly over the asylums of the waters. The day shall never end we think:We have hair that seemed born for the daylight; But at last the quiet waters of the night will riseAnd our skin shall see far off as it does under water. To Reach You

My house says to me, “Do not leave me, for here dwells your past.”And the road says to me, “Come and follow me, for I am your future.”And I say to both my house and the road, “I have no past, nor have I a future.
