In this episode, we were delighted to sit down with Bob Savage, as he reflects on his 34 years in various manufacturing, engineering and customer services leadership roles, now serving as Dell Technologies/Vice President Cork and Regional CIO EMEA. Bob shares his insights on how his organisation supports and prepares future leaders, touching on the key decisions that propelled him to his current leadership position, as well as his commitment to personal and professional growth. He also addresses the barriers to employee participation in lifelong learning and shares his perspective on the qualities that make a great leader. About this episode’s guest, Bob Savage: Bob started his career with degree in Electronic Engineering and is a Chartered Engineer and Fellow of Irish Academy of Engineers. From 2008 to 2015, Bob served as the Site Leader and Vice President of EMC Cork, and since 2016, he has held similar roles at Dell Technologies/Vice President Cork. In addition, he has been the Regional CIO for Dell Technologies EMEA since 2017, with responsibility for Dell operations in Egypt and India. Bob has various roles on board and committees, including Chair of the National Skills Council, Enterprise Ireland, President of the American Chamber of Commerce in Ireland, and Chair the Implementation Committee for the South-West Action Plan for Jobs 2017-2019. Bob was also Chair of the Governing Body of Cork Institute of Technology from September 2011 to December 2020, and of MTU in 2021.
