    Take the Pressure Off

On todays' podcast episode, Dr. Cheryl Hardy talks about pressure. Have you ever thought of ways to take the pressure of life off your mind? We spend so much time worrying about what others think.   Opinions are useful in some cases, but they can be overwhelming. Take the time to explore your feelings, bring them to God, and then journal. Some things are for you alone; let the people and their opinions go. Keep your focus on God and say kind things to yourself. Tell yourself a good story about who you are first thing in the morning, and make time to truly enjoy your moments.   Have you ever thought that you are the prize? You are a blessing—just flow in the calling of God that is in and on your life.   Do not carry the problems of others; instead, manage your life. Be the CEO of your life and have a weekly business meeting with God. Get your answers and enjoy the process. Reflective Journaling Prompts: *   What is one specific opinion I am ready to let go of this week? *   What "good story" can I tell myself about my value when I wake up tomorrow? *   How can I structure my "weekly business meeting" with God to better manage my priorities?   We are looking forward to you being a part of the God and Therapy Community. Let's Talk about Caregivers and Grief

On today's podcast episode, Dr. Cheryl Hardy is talking about being a caretaker. Being a caregiver is one of the hardest jobs in the world. It is so important that we make time for the aging process. Mothers and fathers sometimes age faster than we expect. Suffering in silence is common among caregivers; many believe they are simply doing their duty, not realizing they need help. Most of all, it is critical not to weaponize scripture to make others feel they are not walking with God, or to suggest that their exhaustion is merely their "reasonable service." Caregivers need support, and people often fail to realize the toll this role takes on the caregiver's own aging process. To the person receiving care: please be nice. Be kind. Sharing the story of an illness can be weighty for the listener, so please extend grace to those who serve you. This situation is difficult for everyone involved, but we must strive to make each day as easy as possible. Core Values for the Caregiving Relationship: *   Be nice. *   Be kind. *   Use self-control.   We are looking forward to you being a part of the God and Therapy Community.
