The Spiritual Shitshow Podcast— where the magic meets the mess. This is my little corner of the podcast universe, where we make personal growth feel a little more human — and a lot more fun. Here, I share the ups, downs, sideways spirals, and surprising sparkles of healing, self-discovery, and spiritual misadventures — all with a wink, a laugh, and a whole lot of heart. Because here’s the thing: healing doesn’t have to be so serious. It can be joyful, playful, messy, beautiful, and unapologetically real. Self-development isn’t about coloring inside the lines — it’s about love, connection, freedom, and daring to tell our very human stories. I’m Julie Nguyen — intuitive channel, certified life coach, somatic practitioner, dancer, teacher, and fellow imperfect human — and I’m here to walk (and sometimes cha-cha) alongside you as we amplify the magic, embrace the mess, and cheer each other on through it all. Come as you are. Let’s make it weird, wonderful, and wildly alive. xo- Julie Want to work together? 1:1 Intuitive channeled Soul Sessions 1:1 Intuitive life coaching and more.... www.numinouswisdom.com Instagram: jujulove_nguyen

Courage for Repair: A Return Home

Send us Fan Mail Repair is the part nobody romanticizes. After recording a deep conversation with a friend who’s known me for 20 years, I’m left with one clear “nugget” I can’t shake: the courage for repair. Not rushing to fix things, not burying what hurt, not pretending time alone solved it, but actually facing what it takes to rebuild something inside myself and maybe, someday, with others. I reflect on the rare kind of friendship that doesn’t need constant contact to be real, the kind that shows up at key intersections and helps you see your own life from a new angle. We talk about the intimacy of being witnessed across time, the way old connections can mirror who you were, who you’ve become, and what you still haven’t said out loud. I also unpack my love of spontaneity and the pressure I feel to “stay on script,” whether that’s on a podcast, in creative work, or under the weight of consistency culture. The letter R becomes a through-line: reclaiming parts of myself I thought I had to abandon, returning to dance as a form of somatic healing, and rethinking rupture and repair through reflection and rest. I share what a ten-year healing timeline actually looks like, why the need for a witness matters, and how telling a new story can come from loving neutrality instead of resentment. If you’ve been circling a hard relationship, a big rupture, or a quieter repair inside your own foundation, I think you’ll feel seen here. Letting Go: The Door Was Open All Along

Send us Fan Mail What if the door you've been waiting for has been open all along? For nearly ten years, I've been trying to rebuild my life, reclaim an old identity, and trust that when one door closes, another one opens. I've created businesses, podcasts, websites, workshops, and countless opportunities, all while holding on to the hope that the next big thing would finally arrive. And then October happened. In this deeply personal episode of The Spiritual Shitshow, I'm sharing a real-time spiritual awakening about letting go, survival mode, identity, and the exhausting pursuit of becoming somebody. After canceling a dance workshop, crying, giving the universe two middle fingers, and spending an ordinary evening with my daughter, something finally clicked. The door I'd been waiting for had already opened. I just hadn't recognized it. We're talking about what it actually feels like to surrender when life hasn't unfolded the way you imagined, the difference between living in survival mode and feeling safe, and why letting go of an old dream doesn't necessarily mean giving up on yourself. This isn't another perfectly packaged spiritual lesson about trusting the universe. It's an honest, messy, sometimes uncomfortable conversation about being human, questioning everything, and realizing that maybe the life you've been searching for is the life you're already living. Because sometimes spiritual growth isn't about manifesting something more. Sometimes it's about finally seeing what's already here. So here's my question for you: Can you pause long enough to stop searching and start seeing? Welcome to the Spiritual Shitshow. The Reach, the Grip & the Woo: Questioning Spirituality, Trauma & the Need for Control

Send us Fan Mail What if your spiritual awakening was actually a survival mechanism? And what happens when the very practices that once saved you become another way to control your life? In this episode of The Spiritual Shitshow, Julie Nguyen questions EVERYTHING—religion, spirituality, manifestation, psychic readings, spiritual bypassing, and the booming wellness industry. From childhood trauma and praying the rosary after losing her mother to seeking psychic readings, developing intuitive gifts, and becoming a spiritual teacher, Julie explores the complicated relationship between trauma, spirituality, nervous system safety, and our desperate need for certainty. Are we reaching for genuine connection with the divine, or gripping for control because we're afraid of the unknown? With humor, vulnerability, and a healthy dose of spiritual b******t detection, we explore spiritual ego, religious judgment, toxic positivity, manifestation culture, and the fine line between spiritual growth and spiritual dependency. What if true spiritual freedom isn't about becoming more enlightened—but about finally feeling safe enough to be human? Whether you're navigating a spiritual awakening, questioning your beliefs, recovering from religious conditioning, or learning to trust yourself after trauma, this conversation invites you to loosen your grip and get curious. You don't have to abandon the woo. You just might need to question why you're holding on so tightly. The question is: What are you reaching for, and what are you gripping? 🎙️ The Spiritual Shitshow with Julie Nguyen — Honest conversations about spirituality, self-awareness, trauma, personal growth, and the beautifully messy experience of being human. Am I Too Much? | People-Pleasing, Self-Abandonment & the Freedom to Be Yourself

Send us Fan Mail Have you ever left a conversation wondering, “Did I talk too much? Was I too loud? Did I overshare? Was I too much?” What if the greatest thing holding you back from experiencing true freedom isn't your circumstances, but the fear of being fully yourself? A simple morning conversation with my husband about freedom turned into an unexpected realization: How often do I abandon myself just to feel accepted? In this deeply personal episode of The Spiritual Shitshow, I'm exploring the connection between people-pleasing, self-abandonment, complex PTSD, nervous system safety, and the fear of taking up space. From family estrangement and the pressure to conform to abandoning creative passions because of other people's opinions, I'm questioning how often we silence our voices, minimize our joy, and stop doing the things we love simply because we're afraid of being judged. What does authentic freedom actually feel like? Can we learn to feel safe being seen, heard, and fully expressed? And perhaps the biggest question of all: How many things have you abandoned that you genuinely love because somebody else didn't validate them? This episode is an invitation to stop shrinking yourself to belong, reconnect with your authentic voice, and begin practicing the freedom of being unapologetically YOU. Because maybe you're not too much. Maybe you've just spent too much of your life believing you needed to be less. Welcome to The Spiritual Shitshow. Who Am I Without My Survival Mechanisms? | Identity, Healing & Self-Awareness

Send us Fan Mail Who are you when you no longer need the survival mechanisms that helped you become who you are? In this deeply personal episode of The Spiritual Shitshow, Julie Nguyen explores the uncomfortable, messy, and sometimes hilarious process of shedding old identities, recognizing survival patterns, and discovering what it means to simply BE. After an emotional weekend of self-reflection, a powerful experience during yoga's corpse pose (Savasana), and an unexpected lesson while walking around a lake, Julie begins questioning something profound: How do you know when you're genuinely feeling good about yourself versus when you've become really good at convincing yourself that you're okay? From people-pleasing and the need for validation to constantly turning pain into purpose, this episode explores how our identities can become deeply intertwined with the ways we've learned to feel safe. But what happens when those old survival mechanisms are no longer necessary? And when does self-awareness stop creating freedom and start becoming another way to avoid fully living? Together, we explore identity shifts, emotional healing, nervous system patterns, self-worth, and the art of being present without needing to analyze, fix, or spiritually explain every experience. Maybe healing isn't about becoming someone extraordinary. Maybe it's about remembering that you were always enough. Just for today, can you BE HERE NOW? 🎙️ The Spiritual Shitshow with Julie Nguyen Real conversations about spiritual awakening, personal growth, self-discovery, and the beautifully messy experience of being human. Ignorance is Bliss- my substack audio

Send us Fan Mail “Coming home to yourself” can sound like a pretty slogan until you realize it asks for something raw: honesty about the parts of your story you still judge. I’m unpacking what that phrase means for me in real time, including the uncomfortable truth that I’ve carried a quiet weight of shame for years. I take you back to a moment that felt like pure freedom: three days after high school, driving a cherry red 1989 Ford Escort toward an unknown future with music blasting and the past shrinking in the rearview mirror. That rush of possibility shaped me, and I still crave it. But life changed fast. A broken-down car, a drained bank account, and a dream of professional dancing that died on the side of practicality pushed me into teaching dance before I felt ready. From there, we get into the real heart of it: “fake it till you make it,” imposter syndrome, and the guilt that can follow you even when you were just trying to pay rent and build a life. I talk about how writing and journaling uncover the hidden threads, and how the Hawaiian practice of Ho’oponopono helps me practice self-forgiveness with four simple lines: “I love you. I am sorry. Please forgive me. Thank you.” If you’re rebuilding, feeling overly curated, or scared to step into rooms where you’re new, this conversation is a reminder that your younger self’s courage still counts and it’s still available. Subscribe for more, share this with a friend who needs it, and leave a review. What part of your past are you ready to forgive today? My Personal Process and Check in with Guides aroung MONEY

Send us Fan Mail Money shows up… and then it’s gone. If you’ve ever watched your bank account do that weird magic trick, you’re going to feel seen here. I’m talking out loud through my own “money in, money out” pattern and letting my guides help me look under the surface without handing them the steering wheel. The big reminder I keep coming back to: guidance is a perspective, but I’m the authority in my life, and so are you.  We dig into manifestation through the lens of the energy body, especially the root chakra and solar plexus. The root asks a blunt question: does money feel safe to have, or does it feel like something you have to protect from being taken? The solar plexus brings up worthiness, visibility, and the ability to receive real financial exchange for what you offer. I share a story from a past business dynamic that helped reveal how old imbalances can echo into current income and abundance patterns.  Then we get practical with “energetic leaks” and why staying mentally hooked on old stories can drain the foundation you’re trying to build. I use a simple balloon metaphor: if there are holes, pushing harder won’t help, but finding the leak will. If you want a clearer money mindset, stronger energetic boundaries, and a more grounded approach to spiritual growth and abundance, press play.  If this resonates, subscribe, share it with a friend who’s been stuck in the same cycle, and leave a review so more people can find the show. Pivoting into Authentic Manifestation Dialogue

Send us Fan Mail Your intuition says “pivot,” and your brain replies with a full courtroom drama about commitment, reputation, and letting people down. That tension is where we start. I walk through a real decision to change the plan for Energy Club and why listening to what feels honest is not quitting, it is practicing self-trust in real time. From there we zoom out to something bigger: how we show up for each other without shrinking. When we are afraid of being “too much,” we stay trapped in a version of safety that keeps us disconnected. I talk about why sharing your story matters, how consent and clean support actually work, and why being unapologetically yourself is both the goal and the hard part. Then we go deep on manifestation and the question most people skip: why do you want what you want? I use a simple example like manifesting a big house to show the difference between soul-aligned desires and goals driven by comparison, lack, or the need to prove you have “made it.” We also reframe energy work and psychic readings as a perspective, not the perspective, a possible path, not a guaranteed fate. The power is still yours to choose, and your results start with your internal state: worthiness, abundance mindset, and the feelings you practice living in every day. If you want more aligned manifestation, clearer intuitive guidance, and a more authentic spiritual life, hit subscribe, share this with a friend who is stuck, and leave a review.
