
Nafiu Usman Ibrahim
Nafiu Usman Ibrahim is a prominent Quran reciter from **Nigeria**, born in Bauchi in April 1986 (Sha’aban 1406 Hijra). He primarily recites in the Hafs ‘an Asim narration and is known for his clear and melodious voice. Digital Qur’anic archives feature numerous recordings of his recitations. Nafiu Usman Ibrahim began his Quranic education early, attending Madrasatul Tahfizul Qur’an Doya in 1990 and later other Tahfiz schools. He memorized the Holy Quran by the age of 16 in 2002. His academic journey includes studies in Microbiology at the University of Abuja and Medical Laboratory Science at Maryam Abacha American University in Niger Republic. He also pursued higher Islamic studies. He has an extensive history of participating in and winning Quranic recitation competitions, representing Bauchi State multiple times at national levels in Nigeria. Notably, he achieved overall victory in the 60 Hizb with Tajwid and Tafsir categories in a competition held in Bauchi in 2008. His participation extended to international competitions in countries like Sudan, Egypt, Russia, Saudi Arabia, and Kuwait, where he also achieved overall victory in the 60 Hizb category in 2019. Beyond his recitations, Nafiu Usman Ibrahim serves as a judge in Quranic recitation competitions at local, state, and national levels since 2010. He currently holds the esteemed position of Deputy Imam at the JIBWIS Central Mosque in Bauchi. He received guidance from distinguished Quranic teachers, including Hafiz Muhammad Usman Bauchi.
