Spiritual Thought - America: A city set on a hill

Jesus declared, “Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.” For centuries, those words have echoed through history — shaping nations, inspiring leaders, and defining America’s calling. From John Winthrop’s vision aboard the Arbella, to the Declaration of Independence, to Ronald Reagan’s shining city in the Cold War, America has stood as a beacon of hope in a dark world. But a city on a hill can flicker — and if the light goes out here, where will the world turn? In this episode, we explore how biblical truth shaped America’s identity, why that vision still matters, and what it demands of us today. Along the way, we reflect on Erika Kirk’s powerful moment of forgiveness at her husband Charlie’s memorial — a living example of light overcoming darkness. This is more than history. It’s a challenge. The eyes of all people are still upon us. Will America continue to shine? Send us a message
