With growth comes the need for more connection and community and so this podcast was born. Here we explore the ups and downs of motherhood and everything in between. We’re not perfect, but no matter where we go, we know that there is a league of moms that has our back.

Finding Your Purpose As A Mother: How One Mom Changed Careers and Found Her Dream Job

Becoming a mother is a significant life-changing experience that can be both rewarding and challenging. It is normal to question your purpose as a mother and wonder if you are doing everything right. However, it's important to remember that while being a mother is a significant and meaningful role, it's also important to recognize that you are a multifaceted individual with other interests, passions, and aspirations outside of motherhood. Finding your purpose outside of being a mother is a process that takes time and effort, but it can be done. Our member Candice Hakemack is here to tell you exactly how. Listen to this show if: Your passions and interests since becoming a mom haven’t completely died…you just need a little inspiration to revisit them. You need some reassurance that it’s okay to go after your dreams. You’ve been waiting for a sign to go after what you really want....here it is! To help you start making a plan toward reaching your goals or to figure out what you really want, answer these questions first. Yes, take out a notebook and give yourself a few minutes to answer these questions thoughtfully. Describe yourself in a positive way without using your titles of, mom, wife, mother, sister, etc. If money were no object, what would you go out and do tomorrow? Before kids, what were your hobbies? What did you enjoy doing? Do you still do them? Why or why not? What are your passions? Write down 10 things you would like to achieve in life. I challenge you to pursue one of them this week. Postpartum: How to Plan For and How to Overcome Feeling “Stuck”

Postpartum depression (PPD) and anxiety is a common condition that affects many new mothers. Feelings often occur after childbirth and can last for weeks or months. PPD can make it difficult for new moms to care for themselves and their babies, and it can have a significant impact on their mental health. However, there are steps that women can take to plan for and overcome PPD which you will learn in this episode. Listen to this show if: You recently had a baby, are feeling depressed, and are wondering what your symptoms mean and how you can get help. You know someone who just recently had a baby and feel as though they are displaying symptoms of PPD, and want to know what you can do to help them. You are planning on having a child soon and want to know what you can do to prevent PPD. Planning ahead and seeking help if necessary can help women overcome postpartum depression. By taking care of themselves physically and emotionally as well as making sure to build a support system, women can manage their symptoms and feel better. If you are experiencing symptoms of PPD, please talk to your doctor or a mental health professional, such as our guest today, Dr. Olivia Wedel, for help. Mom Squad Goals: How To Make Mom Friends and Build A Community

Being a mom can sometimes be lonely. That’s where the GCS Moms League comes in! We know how hard it can be to make new friends as we get older, and it seems even more difficult once we start having kids. On top of that, your children need friends too! So how do you make connections with other moms and form long-lasting friendships for yourself and your children? Also, what can you do and where can you go to bond with your newfound friends and create exciting learning opportunities for your children? In this episode, we have two members who are going to explain why playgroups are an excellent way for kids to learn and develop their skills, why they’re a great place to meet other moms with children similar in age, and how you may just see your child/children in a new light. We will also learn some great tips on how to keep your child active on non-playgroup days. Enjoy! Listen to this show if: Since you’ve become a mom your friend circle is almost non-existent. You desire to become more involved and make new mom friends. You wish to expand your child’s (children’s) friend circle and open up new opportunities to them.
