#167 - A Year of Keeping Promises to Myself with Celene

Send me a text! Watching hardworking people chase big goals without getting the results they deserve is frustrating, so we sat down with Celine to map out what actually creates steady progress. She’s one year into a consistent gym routine, and the story isn’t “perfect motivation.” It’s repeatable structure, honest self-talk, and the kind of discipline that feels like self-respect instead of punishment. We get specific about her Monday to Friday training split, how she learned what to do without overcomplicating it, and why having a supportive gym community can be the difference between drifting and showing up. We also go to the place where most plans fall apart: pain, stress, and real life. Celine shares how she handled a back flare-up without quitting, what it looked like to scale workouts while working with professionals, and how the gym became a mental reset during high-pressure seasons at work. From there, we connect strength training to functional life benefits, like feeling physically capable on the job, protecting your body with better core stability, and building confidence that carries into everything else. Then we take an unexpected but wildly practical turn into foot health and medical pedicures. We talk certifications, what a medical pedicure can actually treat, and why keeping your feet healthy helps you keep moving long-term. We wrap with a realistic nutrition conversation (protein, creatine, learning your body’s needs over time), training around your cycle without shame, and why morning sunlight can be a simple daily “battery charge” for mood and energy. If you get value from this, subscribe, share it with a friend who’s trying to build consistency, and leave a review. #166 - Life Gets Easier When You Learn This

Send me a text! You can be kind, thoughtful, and well-intentioned and someone still won’t like your decision. That used to feel like failure for me, but after nearly two decades of working with humans across customer service, travel, and leadership roles, I’ve learned it’s actually freedom when you understand it. We break down the five biggest lessons that made my life easier outside of work too: why you can’t please everyone (and why overexplaining won’t fix it), how to tell the difference between “I made a bad call” and “I’m just uncomfortable with someone’s reaction,” and the simple 24-hour rule that prevents so many blowups in relationships and stressful work situations. If a message feels emotionally urgent, that doesn’t mean it’s practically urgent and space can be the most respectful move you make. We also talk about what it means to stay human in an AI-heavy world. There’s a time and place for efficiency, but real connection still comes from warmth, tone, presence, and the small moments that make people feel seen. From there, we get into trusting your gut when something feels off and using tact over force so your boundaries land clearly without triggering instant defensiveness. If you want better communication skills, healthier boundaries, and more grounded relationships at home and at work, press play, share this with a friend who needs it, and subscribe so you don’t miss what’s next. #165 - Train for LIFE 2

Send me a text! Your body is not just something to look at, it is something to live in. Today we make a clean mindset shift that changes everything: stop asking “What is this workout going to do for my body?” and start asking “What is this workout going to allow my body to do?” When training connects to capability, it becomes easier to stay consistent, even when motivation is gone. I share a real moment that hit me hard while traveling: stepping up onto a narrow stool to reach a too high cabinet and realizing I was literally using the same single leg strength and balance I have been building for pistol squats. That is what functional fitness looks like in the wild. We talk about the everyday wins that matter, like carrying heavy bags, lifting gear overhead, moving without fear, and building a body that stays strong in your 40s, 50s, 60s, and beyond. We also get honest about aesthetics. Wanting a bigger butt or visible abs is fine, but a lean look does not automatically mean strength or core stability. I break down why deep core engagement matters, how to think about bracing, and why resistance training is a major tool for women’s health, including bone density and osteoporosis prevention. We weave in cardio and running for brain health, stress relief, and that clear, focused feeling that makes your whole day better, plus a simple weekly plan you can actually sustain. If you want a practical, no shame approach to strength training, cardio, daily walking, circadian rhythm support, and long term fitness habits, press play. Subscribe, share this with a friend who trains for the mirror, and leave a review so more people can find the show. What is one thing you want your body to be able to do this year? #164 - You Cannot Hack Sleep, But You Can Support It

Send me a text! Your body can adapt to almost anything, including a level of exhaustion you would never choose on purpose. That’s why “I’m fine on four hours” can feel true, right up until you finally sleep well and realize how much better life can feel. I’m coming to you as a slightly sleepy human after a stretch of travel, celebrations, and late nights, and I’m using it as the perfect moment to talk honestly about what to do when sleep gets messy. We start with the big mindset shift: brief periods of disrupted sleep happen, but chronic sleep deprivation is a different beast. From there, I walk through the sleep hygiene basics that consistently make the biggest difference, without the hype. You’ll hear why morning light is the number one tool to set your circadian rhythm, how to use a practical caffeine cutoff to protect deep sleep, and how to create a calmer evening by slowly changing your screen time and phone-in-the-bedroom habits. Then we zoom out to the daily inputs that decide how you sleep at night: movement that burns off “wired but tired” energy, meal timing that supports overnight recovery, and simple environment upgrades like a cooler room, dimmer evening lights, and protecting the bedroom as a cue for rest. I also share where magnesium glycinate can help, why alcohol is a common disruptor, and how I use creatine for mental alertness during a sleepy 2 to 3 p.m. slump without wrecking the next night’s sleep. If you want more energy, better mood, and a steadier routine, press play, then subscribe, share this with a friend who’s always tired, and leave a review so more people can find the show. #163 - The Things We Pretend Aren’t a Problem

Send me a text! “I don’t care” sounds confident, but sometimes it’s just a protective cover for something else: if we look too closely at the habit that isn’t working, we might have to do something about it. I’m pulling that pattern into the light with zero shame and a lot of honesty, because you don’t need to hate yourself into better health. You need to tell the truth about what’s costing you energy, mood, sleep, and peace. We talk through the avoidance loop so many of us live in: noticing something feels off, feeling uncomfortable, minimizing it with jokes or excuses, then repeating the same cycle when it comes back around. I use real-life examples like inconsistent workouts or overtraining, nutrition that swings between under-eating and overeating, late-night scrolling that wrecks sleep hygiene, and the identity labels we adopt too fast like “I’m just not disciplined” or “I’m a bad sleeper.” We also unpack a key mindset shift for sustainable wellness: self-acceptance is not the same thing as self-abandonment. Then we get practical. I share a simple framework to create habit change without a dramatic life overhaul: pinpoint what keeps bothering you, get curious about what you’re getting from the behavior, educate yourself on what you’re actually dealing with (stress, recovery, attention loops), and run small experiments you can repeat. If you’ve been stuck negotiating with your mind for months or years, this is your gentle nudge to stop calling it normal and start asking what’s truly optimal for you. If this helps, subscribe, share it with a friend who’s been saying “I’m fine,” and leave a review so more people can find the show. #162 - You're Not Behind: Building Long-Term Habits

Send me a text! A “perfect routine” can look like a mountain from the outside: structured workouts, dialed nutrition, pristine sleep hygiene, and a dozen wellness practices that feel impossible to copy. We talk about the truth most people never see, those results are usually built through 10+ years of micro decisions. When you try to jump straight to expert level habits, you don’t become more disciplined. You just get overwhelmed, inconsistent, and convinced you’re behind.  We unpack what it actually means to become the expert of your own body, not by memorizing more rules, but by building body literacy. That means choosing one small habit, applying it, paying attention to how you feel, and adjusting with nuance. We use real examples from strength training (form, breathing, progressive overload), nutrition (protein, fiber, macros and micros), and sleep (bedtime awareness, caffeine timing, recovery, and the beliefs that sabotage change). We also talk about why blindly following influencers and one size fits all plans backfires, and how to use qualified professionals as guidance without outsourcing your judgment.  You’ll hear why flexible discipline matters, structure that supports your life while leaving room for joy, rest, and the occasional spontaneous plan. We end with a clear framework you can use today: get curious, get informed, apply one micro action, then keep what works and modify what doesn’t. If you’re ready for sustainable wellness habits that actually stick, subscribe, share this with a friend who feels behind, and leave a review so more people can find the show. #161 - Why You Keep Doing What Isn't Working

Send me a text! You can know everything about sleep hygiene, strength training, meal prep, and productivity, and still feel stuck in the same loop: “Why can’t I just do the thing?” We’re going after the real problem, not the surface one. When your follow-through collapses, it’s rarely because you’re lazy or incapable. It’s usually because perfectionism, shame, or fear is driving the bus, and your brain would rather avoid a feeling than complete a habit. I share a simple way to move from spiraling into action without forcing yourself into burnout. We start by naming what’s not working, then we go one level deeper and identify the emotion you attach to it, like embarrassment, unworthiness, or anger. That emotional awareness becomes the missing ingredient for sustainable habit change, because “more facts” can’t compete with an unspoken story you’re carrying about what it means when you mess up. From there, we switch into curiosity and practical coaching questions that help you find what’s actually in your way, then pick a micro action that’s specific, realistic, and tied to an exact time. We also use the CRIPES method (Career, Relationships, Intellect, Physical, Emotional, Spiritual) to choose weekly priorities so you can make progress without demanding peak performance in every area of life. If this helped, subscribe, share it with a friend who’s stuck in the same pattern, and leave a quick review so more people can find the show. #160 - Simple Swaps for a Lower-Tox Life

Send me a text! The wellness internet can make you feel like you need a hazmat suit to live a normal life. We’re stepping out of the noise and into something calmer: small, realistic changes you can make over time that actually fit inside a busy week, travel days, and a real budget. No fear-mongering, no “throw everything out today” energy, just grounded micro swaps that reduce daily exposure and help you feel more in control of your health.  We talk about how to spot overly absolute wellness claims, why nuance matters, and how to keep your brain turned on when you’re consuming health content. Then we get practical with the exact changes I’ve used for years: diluted magnesium oil spray instead of conventional deodorant, hydroxyapatite toothpaste as a fluoride alternative (plus how to read labels), and oil pulling as a simple oral care add-on alongside flossing and regular dental visits. Oral health is health, and we connect the dots without getting extreme.  From there, we move into everyday exposures that add up: swapping Bluetooth earbuds for wired headphones, choosing organic coffee because coffee is often heavily sprayed, and using filtered water based on what’s actually in your local supply (including fluoride, chlorine, hard water, or other contaminants). We also cover kitchen and home shifts like reducing microwave use, opting for glass containers when practical, and choosing fragrance-free products to support hormone health.  If you’ve felt overwhelmed by “everything is toxic” messaging, this is your reminder that consistency beats perfection. Subscribe for more practical habit-based wellness, share this with a friend who’s tired of wellness panic, and leave a review with the one micro swap you’re committing to next.
