Accept the Invitation to the Wedding Feast: 28th Sunday in Ordinary Time, Matt 22:1-14

Thanks to Ryan Foley and the Catholic Mission Network for their sponsorship and support of The Point Man Podcast. The passage guiding today’s discussion is from the 28th Sunday in Ordinary Times, Year A, October 11, 2026. In this episode of The Point Man Podcast, the guys reflect on Matthew 22:1-14 and the Parable of the Wedding Feast. The guys unpack what it means to be invited to the wedding feast of heaven and why our response to that invitation matters. Jesus makes it clear that the invitation is offered freely, but we are also called to prepare our hearts and respond with intentionality. The conversation explores the temptation to become distracted by work, business, family responsibilities, or our own plans and miss what God is inviting us into. They discuss the importance of not simply checking the boxes of our faith, but allowing Christ to transform our hearts through prayer, the sacraments, Scripture, and a genuine relationship with Him. The guys also reflect on the wedding garment and what it means to be clothed in love and charity. The invitation is not simply about showing up. It is about allowing God’s grace to change the way we live, love our spouses, raise our children, and serve the people entrusted to us. Ultimately, the episode asks a simple but challenging question: Do we have eyes to see what God is inviting us into? The wedding feast is prepared. The invitation has been given. The question is whether we will accept it and intentionally live in response to it.

The Vineyard Was Never Mine: 27th Sunday in Ordinary Time, Matt 21:33-43

The passage guiding today’s discussion is from the 27th Sunday in Ordinary Times, Year A, October 4, 2026. In this episode of The Point Man Podcast, the guys read and reflect on Matthew 21:33-43 and the Parable of the Wicked Tenants. The guys unpack what it means to recognize that we are tenants in God’s vineyard and that the gifts, relationships, families, work, and responsibilities entrusted to us ultimately belong to Him. The conversation explores the temptation to grasp for control, rely on ourselves, and treat God’s gifts as our own rather than receiving them with gratitude and becoming good stewards. The guys also wrestle with a deeper question: Do we truly believe that God is a good Father? Through conversations about surrender, prayer, Scripture, adoration, fatherhood, anxiety, and the example of a faithful wife, they discuss what it looks like to move from simply knowing about God to actually encountering Him and trusting Him. The episode also challenges fathers to consider how they model God’s love within the home and how the way we live, serve, and love our families can point our children toward the Father. Ultimately, the call is simple: Let Christ be your cornerstone. Trust the Father, surrender what was never truly ours, and faithfully bear fruit in the vineyard He has entrusted to us. Thanks to Ryan Foley and the Catholic Mission Network for their sponsorship and support of The Point Man Podcast.

It’s Never Too Late to Begin Again: 25th Sunday in Ordinary Time.

In this episode of The Point Man Podcast, the guys reflect on the parable of the workers in the vineyard and what it reveals about the generosity, mercy, and goodness of God. Why does the landowner give the same wage to the worker who arrived at the end of the day as the one who worked from the beginning? The conversation dives into the tension we can feel when God’s generosity doesn’t seem “fair” by our standards and how easily comparison, envy, pride, and resentment can take root in our hearts. The Point Men explore the powerful truth that God’s mercy is not something we earn through comparison or performance. Everything is grace. The landowner goes out first, seeks his workers, and continues inviting people into the vineyard throughout the day reminding us that God is always taking the initiative and calling us closer to Him. This episode is also a reminder for anyone who feels like they are too late, too far behind, or have too much ground to make up: it’s never too late to start. Whether you are returning to your faith, working to strengthen your marriage, becoming a more faithful father, or simply trying to begin again after falling short, there is still an invitation waiting for you. God can do much with what we are willing to place in His hands. The conversation also challenges us to stop comparing our story to someone else’s. We may not understand what God is doing in another person’s life and we don’t need to. Our call is to trust the goodness of the Father, rejoice when others receive His mercy, and faithfully respond to the unique invitation He has placed before us. At the heart of this episode is a simple but challenging question: Does my life start with God, or does it start with me? Join the Point Man team as they unpack what it means to surrender our prayers, works, joys, and sufferings to the Lord, live as stewards of the gifts we have been given, and enter each new day with the courage to begin again. A special thank you to Ryan Foley and the Catholic Mission Network for their generous sponsorship and continued support of The Point Man Podcast. We are grateful for your partnership and for helping make this mission possible. The kingdom starts with the Landowner. We simply receive His grace with gratitude and bear fruit for His kingdom.

The Power of Forgiveness: 24th Sunday in Ordinary Time.

In this episode of The Point Man Podcast, the guys dive into one of the most challenging and essential calls of the Christian life: forgiveness. Reflecting on the Gospel of Matthew, where Peter asks Jesus how many times he must forgive his brother, the conversation explores Christ’s powerful response: not seven times, but seventy-seven times. Through the parable of the unforgiving servant, the Point Men unpack the incredible mercy God has shown each of us and the responsibility we have to extend that same mercy to others. This conversation goes beyond simply saying, “I forgive you.” The guys wrestle with what it truly means to forgive from the heart, especially when the wounds are real, the offense is deep, and letting go feels impossible. They discuss the supernatural grace required for forgiveness, the weight that resentment can place on our lives, the importance of humility and reconciliation, and why some wounds are too heavy to carry alone. At the heart of this episode is a powerful question for all of us: What am I still holding on to? Forgiveness doesn’t mean pretending we were never hurt. It doesn’t mean ignoring the reality of deep wounds. But through Christ, we are invited into a freedom that resentment can never give us. Sometimes forgiveness requires a difficult conversation. Sometimes it requires prayer, reconciliation, support from others, and a willingness to allow God to heal what we cannot heal on our own. The challenge is simple but not easy: remember the incredible debt that has been forgiven in us, and allow that mercy to transform the way we love others. A special thank you to Ryan Foley and the Catholic Mission Network for their generous sponsorship and continued support of The Point Man Podcast. We are grateful for your partnership and for helping make this mission possible. There is incredible power in forgiveness—the power of Christ Himself.

Stronger Together: Forgiveness, Brotherhood & the Path to Reconciliation. 23rd Sunday in Ordinary time.

In this episode of The Point Man Podcast, the guys continue their new Lectio Divina format by reflecting on Matthew 18 and the powerful call to reconciliation, forgiveness, humility, and authentic brotherhood. What do you do when a brother sins against you? Instead of avoiding conflict, holding grudges, venting to others, or taking frustrations public, Jesus gives us a path: go directly to your brother, seek resolution, bring trusted brothers alongside you when necessary, and remain rooted in the truth of the Church. The conversation explores the courage it takes to have difficult conversations, the difference between pursuing justice and protecting our ego, and why forgiveness does not mean approving of the wrong that was done. The guys also reflect on the freedom that comes from loosening the burdens we carry—resentment, bitterness, pride, and unforgiveness—and placing them in the hands of Christ. At the heart of this episode is a powerful reminder: we were never meant to do this alone. Where two or three are gathered in His name, Christ is present. Brotherhood matters. Community matters. The Church matters. And sometimes the path back to unity requires the humility and fortitude to take the first step. Join the Point Man team as they unpack what it means to confront with love, forgive without keeping score, and walk together toward the freedom Christ desires for each of us. A special thank you to Ryan Foley and the Catholic Mission Network for their generous sponsorship and continued support of The Point Man Podcast. We are grateful for your partnership and for helping make this mission possible. Live a life of virtue. Stay close to the sacraments. Be the Point Man for your family.
