Aliza Sherman, a 53-year-old in-vitro fertilization nurse and mother of four, was stabbed 11 times March 24, 2013, in downtown Cleveland.     8. Digital Forensics: Building a Case Using Electronic Fingerprints

    In this episode of Aliza: Her Story, Mike Butz and Sara Shookman explore the growing role of digital forensics in the investigation of Aliza Sherman’s 2013 murder. The episode begins with digital-forensics expert Anthony Gentile, whose work helped authorities locate an armed fugitive in South Carolina, illustrating how phones, social media, IP addresses and other digital records can help investigators find people and reconstruct events. The episode then examines the digital evidence at the center of Greg Moore’s upcoming trial, including cellphones, a missing phone, a mobile hotspot, cloud records, carrier logs and device extractions. Experts explain how forensic technology has advanced dramatically since 2013, allowing investigators to recover and analyze far more information about locations, communications and “patterns of life.” The episode explores how gaps in digital activity, such as a phone suddenly going offline, can become important pieces of an investigative timeline. With Moore’s September 2026 trial approaching, the episode also provides an update on the legal battle over the evidence, including defense challenges to search warrants and forensic methods, disputes over grand jury materials and the addition of new defense counsel.     6. Gregory Moore Charged

    The attorney trusted to advocate for Aliza Sherman during her contested divorce trial is now –12 years later – charged with her murder. Gregory Moore, 51, of Sagamore Hills, was indicted on May 2 on 10 criminal counts in the death of Sherman on March 24, 2013. Sherman, a 53-year-old in-vitro fertilization nurse and mother of four, was stabbed 11 times outside the Stafford Law Company in downtown Cleveland, where Moore worked, and she was scheduled to meet with him that Sunday night. She died later that day. This special episode of "Aliza: Her Story" explores this latest update in the 12-year cold case ahead of Moore's extradition hearing on May 14 in Texas and scheduled arraignment on May 16 at the Cuyahoga County Justice Center.
