Everything Sacred

Tiberius Ryuu

Everything Sacred is a place for conversations about how human beings make meaning—from psychology, philosophy, spirituality and science to identity, culture, recovery, relationships, community and the experiences that change the course of our lives. There are no required beliefs here and no single lens through which everything must be understood. The show explores ideas across disciplines, traditions and lived experience, looking for connections, asking difficult questions and making room for conversations that don't always fit neatly into categories.Hosted by Tiberius Ryuu, author, researcher, former addictions counselor and founder of Threshold Reorganization™, He draws on decades of lived and professional experience alongside an ongoing curiosity about why people believe, change, struggle, heal, belong and become. If it touches meaning, becoming, connection, belief, identity or the business of being human, it's probably fair game.Everything is sacred and worth examining.

Ep. 10 What Actually Creates Lasting Change? | Threshold Reorganization™

Getting sober changed the direction of my life. But sobriety alone didn't answer a much bigger question: What actually creates lasting transformational change? In this episode of Everything Sacred, Tiberius Ryuu (Joshua Wagner) shares some of the origins of Threshold Reorganization™ — a self-guided framework for understanding transformational change. The story begins with the early struggle to get sober and the role 12-step recovery played in that process. But eventually, recovery reached a threshold of its own. Getting sober had solved an immediate and potentially deadly problem, but there was still much more to understand about changing the patterns, identity, relationships, environment, and ways of living that surrounded it. After eventually finding something that worked, another question emerged: Why did it work? Over the last several years, that question has led to an effort to reverse-engineer the map — examining the process of lasting personal transformation through neuroscience, psychology, behavioral science, social systems, ecology, philosophy, and our long human history of navigating major life transitions. That exploration eventually became Threshold Reorganization™. This episode isn't a rejection of 12-step recovery or an argument for one universal path to sobriety. It's the story of what happened when one path took me as far as it could — and the search for a deeper understanding of what came next. In this episode: • The early struggle to get sober • What 12-step recovery provided — and where it stopped being enough • The difference between sobriety and broader transformational change • Searching for the mechanisms behind lasting change • The origins of Threshold Reorganization™ • Why environment, identity, behavior, relationships, and meaning may all matter Everything Sacred explores spirituality, psychology, recovery, philosophy, identity, culture, and the search for meaning.
