    Athletes see sleep as the number 1 tool to recovery and hence to performance. Many leaders still believe that sleep is an unnecessary evil, sharing how they reached their successes through 4-5 hours of sleep. In this first episode on sleep (one of my all-time favorite topics) we deepdive into why athletes and leaders share a different belief, the consequences of a lack of sleep on performance and how there is a certain mindset change already happening. And of course, I will share (based on different pieces of research) how much sleep you really need.     4. Steps to successfully manage 'easy' workouts or tasks, where the execution is not complex but rather long

    Starting from my workout with rowing, double unders and shuttle runs - all exercises that are fairly simple and don't require a very strong focus. This workout was around 20-25 minutes and in order to do well, required a plan. I will talk about my 4 steps that have guided me to be successful in this workout and how it translates also to those long, rather simple tasks/projects in the corporate world. We all have tasks or projects that take a while, have multiple steps but might not require the same focus as a more challenging task or project.     3. Why women (and men) should lift weights, the physical and mental benefits

    A lot of women (and men) are afraid to lift weights, afraid of what happens to their body, afraid of what others would say. Lifting weights actually has a lot of physical and mental benefits. These ranges from short to long term, from more energy to increasing bone density and reducing the risk for osteoporosis. But what a lot of people forget, is that lifting weights (or doing sports) also has mental benefits. We are more alert and better able to deal with uncertainty. Have you tried lifting weights?     2. Workout: Grit & tenacity on the assault bike, why you should relax and reflect after a project

    Today, I am deepdiving into 1 specific workout: 2x14min assault bike for max calories. In the beginning, motivation is up! At the end, one can see the light at the end of the tunnel! But getting through the middle part is where valuable lessons are learned and where potential negative thoughts are setback occur. Similar to projects. What is different is that in projects, we often reflect back on the middle part, in particular those things that didn't go well. After a workout, we rest and reflect and are willing and able to do it all over again. For me, the difference is that projects often happen in parallel but also that I don't always take time to rest and reflect, and take success as a given. Maybe we should take a moment to celebrate and then reflect in order to have the energy to do it all over again and start with positive feelings.
