    96. Is The Hardest Part of Prioritizing Yourself Asking for Help? Let's Talk About It!

In this episode of Happiness with Jess, health coach Jess explores why so many women struggle to prioritize themselves—even when they know exactly what they need to feel better. For women who are balancing work, family, relationships, household responsibilities, and their own health, self-care can start to feel like just another thing on an already endless to-do list. Jess explores why the solution isn’t always better time management or more discipline. Sometimes, taking better care of yourself means asking for help, delegating, letting go of perfectionism, and allowing other people to support you. In this episode, Jess talks about: Why asking for help can feel so uncomfortableWhy receiving support can be just as difficult as asking for itWhy self-care doesn’t always mean adding another healthy habitLearning that being independent and being supported can coexist Because sometimes the healthiest thing you can do for yourself isn’t another healthy habit. Sometimes it’s asking for help. Jess also shares a personal story about learning to receive support and why letting someone else take care of you can be an important part of your health, relationships, and personal growth. 94. The 3 S’s of Consistency: Systems, Structure & Scheduling

What if the problem isn’t that you lack motivation or discipline…but that your habits just aren’t supported enough? In this episode, Jess breaks down the 3 S’s of consistency: Systems, Structures, and Scheduling. Rather than relying on motivation to maintain healthy habits, she explores how to create routines that support you through busy seasons, low-energy days, travel, stress, changing schedules, and all the other ways real life likes to get in the way.  Jess also talks about why we so often build routines for our ideal life instead of our real life. Because if your routine only works when everything goes perfectly…is it really a sustainable routine? You’ll learn how to: Create systems that make your habits easier and require less motivationBuild a realistic baseline so one hard week doesn’t turn into starting overUse scheduling to actually make space for the things that matterCreate lower-bar options for the days when you’re tired, busy, or just not feeling itPlan for the interruptions instead of treating them like failuresBuild routines around your real life—not your ideal selfAndJess brings it all back to the Bounce Back Rate—because consistency isn’t about never getting off track. It’s about getting better at finding your way back. The goal isn’t to create a routine you can follow perfectly. It’s to build one you can return to when life gets in the way. If you’re tired of constantly starting over and want to build healthy habits that actually fit your life, this episode is for you.  Learn about Jess’s coaching here 👉https://www.happinesscoaching.online/happinessprogram  And or more on self-love, health, fitness, and healing, follow Jess on Instagram:  👉 @happ.i.ness.jess

    89. Healing My Father Wound: My Story Growing Up Without a Dad

In this deeply personal Father's Day episode, Jess shares her experience of growing up without her father present and reflects on the ways that absence shaped her identity, relationships, and sense of self. She opens up about the wounds that developed in the absence of a consistent father figure—including abandonment, low self-worth, people-pleasing, hyper-independence, and looking outside herself for validation, love, and belonging. Jess also shares her healing journey and the tools that have helped her reconnect with herself over the years, including traditional talk therapy, somatic therapy, mindset and subconscious work through To Be Magnetic (TBM), grief work, humor, supportive relationships, and learning to meet the needs she once hoped others would fulfill. This conversation is an honest reflection on what it means to grieve what you didn't receive, make sense of the patterns that emerged as a result, and slowly build a more compassionate relationship with yourself. Whether you grew up without a father, experienced childhood abandonment, or recognize yourself in the patterns of seeking approval, fearing rejection, or struggling to feel fully chosen, this episode is a reminder that our wounds may influence us—but they don't have to define us. Healing is possible, and you're not alone in the process.
