Starting with a solo effort the break the 4-minute mile barrier, Sandy Roberts found a gem of an event that brings together the Raleigh running community in a celebration of the sport. It's one of the most anticipated mile races of the summer with elite athletes from around the world competing in it. So why not move the race around and make the most money possible? Cause that's not what it's about. It's about the community here in Raleigh, and you can't just move that to any city in the country. It's a Raleigh thing.     SAVANNAH SHAW - From National Championships with the Wolfpack to her future as a Professional runner

    Savannah Shaw has been a staple of the NC State Women's Cross Country Program, and she's enjoyed seeing the program go from Top-10 contenders to back-to-back NCAA Champions in Cross Country. Training alongside some of the best female distance runners in the country, she's made a name for herself as a 1500m and 5000m runner that's capable of putting on a show any time she laces the spikes up. A multi-time All-American in her own right, she talks her pro aspirations, and how she would rate her time at NC State. Above all the PRs and All-Americans, Savannah is an incredible person with immense creative talent that can be seen from her work of the track through her growing social media following and her multitude of friends. This time we've brought in Hayley Jackson who was an accomplished middle distance runner at West Virginia University, and she is a content creator in the running space. She's been making videos for as long as she can remember from stop motion videos to race-day vlogs. She's grown with her content as she's grown as a person.     If you've been to run club, you've seen his big smile. Omer or Peaceman as he's known on socials has been a prominent figure in the Runologie community. During this episode, he opens up about how his running journey started and where he sees it going in the future with a possible Olympic Qualifying time. His running has helped him escape war in Sudan and find community in the United States. His life story has inspired countless runners over countless miles. Omer returns to visit his family overseas whenever he gets the chance, and tries to raise awareness on the conflicts in Sudan when given the opportunity. Follow Omer's journey here!
