Excerpt: “there's certainly one [political] party that seems to favor the biblical principles and things that we would stand on as Christians more than the other.”
The general flow of each episode is:
1. Two pastors chit chat, sometimes about current events and how (they think) Christians should respond.
2. The daily bible passage and some excellent expository teaching/biblical discourse
3. Prayer
It’s two pastors casually chit chatting through their conservative lens on current events and intermingling it with the Bible. Harmless, right? no.
How do you think Christian Nationalism starts? Like this. It’s pastors on podcasts occasionally talking politics and saying one party is more biblical and morally superior. And drawing parallels between biblical text and the modern day that conveniently support their right-leaning world views while demonizing the left.
There could be more love, humility, and compassion in these podcasts. Instead, like modern-day Pharisees, they focus on the letter of the law over its spirit, which is hypocritical and self-righteous.
Pastor Rod and Pastor PJ, did you know Democrat Christians exist and are in your church? In your community? I challenge you to love them as much as you love people who look or live or vote exactly like you. If you can’t love the orphan or the widow, the outcast, the immigrant, the addict, the liberal, then please just admit you’re a cult and leave Jesus out of it.
Even though you speak on a podcast and not a pulpit, all your words still hold authority, whether you want them to or not.
