The Real Reason You Keep Starting Again With Your Health & Fitness

New plan. New motivation. New gym kit. This time you're REALLY going to do it. Three weeks later, the scales haven't moved as quickly as you'd hoped, you're questioning everything and suddenly there's another plan looking a lot more appealing. Sound familiar? In this episode, we're talking about why so many women find themselves stuck in the same health and fitness cycle. Starting strong, getting impatient, changing everything, giving up and eventually starting all over again. And here's the thing. It's not always a lack of discipline or motivation. Sometimes it's our expectations of how quickly results should happen. We're getting into: The honeymoon phase of starting something new and what happens when the excitement wears off. Why we expect our effort to be rewarded immediately. The uncomfortable middle, where you're doing the work but can't quite see the results yet. Why one disappointing weigh-in can send us into a complete tailspin. The temptation to slash calories, add more cardio or jump onto another plan. How constantly starting again can keep you further away from the results you're chasing. The difference between being consistent and knowing when something genuinely needs changing. Learning to trust the process without needing constant reassurance that it's working. Because whether you're trying to lose fat, build muscle, get stronger or improve your fitness, there's going to be a period where you're putting in the work without getting the immediate reward. And that's often the point where everything goes t**s up. You don't necessarily need another plan, another challenge or another Monday morning fresh start. Sometimes you need to stop changing the bloody goalposts long enough to see what you're actually capable of. You can't keep starting again and expect to find out what consistency could have done for you. Eating Less Isn’t the Answer: What Got You Here Won’t Get You There

What got you here won’t necessarily get you where you want to go next. Maybe eating less helped you lose weight. Maybe hammering cardio worked for a while. Maybe spending years trying to make yourself smaller got you to where you are now. But what if your goal has changed? What if now you want to be stronger, fitter, faster, more muscular and actually perform well? You can't keep asking your body to do more while continually giving it less. In this episode, I'm talking about one of the biggest shifts I see women needing to make with their health and fitness: recognising when the strategy that got results before has become the very thing holding them back. We talk about the fear of eating more, permanently chasing low calories, training harder without fuelling it, expecting muscle and strength while still approaching food like you're on a diet, and why eventually that can leave you frustrated, under-recovered and wondering why you're not progressing. Because fat loss and performance aren't the same goal. If you want to build muscle, get stronger, improve your fitness and see what your body is actually capable of, you need to start supporting that goal. And this isn't only about food. Sometimes the habits, rules and mindset that got you through one chapter simply aren't what you need for the next one. You don't always need to try harder. Sometimes you need a different strategy. You feel guilty after eating something you enjoy. One meal goes off plan and suddenly the F**k It Button has been well and truly pressed. Welcome to the Food Jail. In this episode, I’m talking about food guilt, restrictive dieting, overeating, all-or-nothing thinking and why trying to have MORE control around food can sometimes leave food taking up even more space in your head. We’ll cover: • The invisible food rules you might not realise you have• The Last Supper mentality before starting another diet• Why one “bad” meal can turn into a full weekend of overeating• Exercise debt and trying to burn off what you’ve eaten• Why food freedom doesn’t mean abandoning your health or fat-loss goals• How to build an approach to nutrition that actually survives real life And I’m introducing my new 7-Day Break Free From the Food Jail Mini Masterclass, designed to help you spot the patterns and rules keeping you stuck and start building a healthier, more flexible relationship with food. You can still have goals. You can still want to lose fat. You can still care about your nutrition.
