    Why Israel Still Matters For Christians

    What Then Say You? Treating Israel like a symbol might feel harmless until you realize what it does to your theology: it quietly moves you to the center of a story that never started with you. We dig into a topic that can be triggering but desperately needed, how replacement theology and an Americanized gospel can twist the way we read the Bible, pray, and even understand salvation. We open Romans 11 and sit with Paul’s olive tree picture: natural branches, a wild olive branch grafted in, and a warning that should sober every believer. The root supports us, not the other way around, and trust is never a license for arrogance. From there, we talk spiritual adoption in plain terms, what it means to be brought into covenant by grace, and why holiness cannot be treated like a bonus feature of Christianity.     Spiritual Warfare- When The Enemy Blends In

    What Then Say You? The enemy doesn’t always show up as something you can easily spot. Sometimes the real threat is an idea that blends in, gains trust, and slowly reshapes what you believe. We start with my experience in Afghanistan, where the battlefield had no clear front line and success was hard to measure because the fight was against an ideology, not just an army. That picture becomes a sobering lens for our Christian spiritual warfare today.  Diving into Galatians 3 and Paul’s piercing question, “Who has put you under a spell?” and we unpack how deception often works through persuasion, not pressure. We talk about the traps on both sides: legalism that turns church habits and good works into a substitute for faith, and a counterfeit “freedom” that excuses compromise with spiritual-sounding phrases. Both can lead to a fake version of Christianity that looks close enough to pass at first glance, while quietly killing trust in Jesus.  Then we check out Ephesians 6 and the reality of the unseen battle against spiritual forces. The solution is not paranoia, it’s clarity: testing our lives by Scripture, rebuilding prayer and fasting, and bringing hidden compromises into the light through repentance.     Rethinking Success Through Scripture

    What Then Say You? Success can feel like a spiritual word, but most of us define it with a secular scoreboard: money, titles, comfort, influence, and visible wins. We sit with the tension that happens when that definition slips into Christian life, shaping how we judge ourselves, raise our kids, and even evaluate churches. When faith becomes a path to “the good life,” it’s easy to start co-signing God onto whatever we’re chasing and calling it blessing, favor, or prosperity.  We walk straight into that misconception and pull it apart with Scripture. Joshua 1 is a pivotal anchor, one of the few places the Bible directly connects “success” to a clear condition: obedience to God’s Word, meditation on it, and courage rooted in God’s presence. That pushes us to ask hard questions about motive and source. Are we chasing outcomes that feed the flesh and labeling them spiritual? Are we measuring the Christian walk by numbers and applause, or by faithfulness, repentance, and love for God and neighbor?  How does prosperity, breakthrough, and the blessing culture, compare to what Jesus says about anxiety and provision in Matthew 6:33. We also talk about freedom in Christ as a daily choice to serve the good Master, not a permission slip to do whatever feels good.     Salvation Is Not Passive, So Now What

    What Then Say You? If you’ve ever wondered why you still struggle after you “did all the right things,” you’re not alone. We sit down as husband and wife and get honest about a misconception that quietly breaks a lot of believers: the idea that salvation means growth will just happen to you while you wait. We talk about the tension between grace and effort, why “trying” is not automatically legalism, and how real Christian discipleship requires awake, daily participation with the Holy Spirit. We lean on Ephesians 6 and the Armor of God, using a soldier analogy that makes it click: nobody goes to war wearing gym clothes with a single weapon. You gear up, on purpose. Paul’s language is the same, take it up, put it on, carry it, stand. We also take on the shallow version of “it is finished” and ask the hard question: finished for what? We connect Hebrews, James, and Romans 13 to show how faith and obedience work together, why “make no provision for the flesh” is so direct, and how God’s light exposes what we keep trying to excuse. Then we bring it into real life: phones, ads, scrolling, desires that start small and end up owning your attention. Spiritual warfare often feels like an insurgency, constant, subtle, hard to identify, and exhausting. We close by reframing holiness as servanthood, resisting the urge to treat people like the enemy, and choosing to stay children of the day who are aware, accountable, and ready to love the person in front of us.
