The Art of Badassery

Mahara Wayman

The Art of Badassery is where bold conversations meet real, unapologetic transformation. Hosted by Mahara Wayman, this podcast goes beyond surface-level personal development and into the work that actually changes you—identity shifts, life pivots, sobriety, self-trust, and the uncomfortable truths most people avoid. Through powerful guest conversations and her signature Mindfucks With Mahara episodes, Mahara challenges the patterns, beliefs, and behaviors that keep high-achieving women stuck, even when they know better. This isn’t about motivation. This isn’t about fixing yourself. This is about telling the truth, reclaiming your power, and becoming the woman who can actually hold the life she says she wants. If you’re done performing growth and ready to live it, welcome.

#116 Your Next Season Needs a Different You

Personal growth isn't just about setting bigger goals or creating a new vision for your life. It's about developing the emotional capacity to actually live the life you're working toward. We spend so much time deciding what we want next. A thriving business. A different relationship. More freedom. Greater leadership. A quieter, more intentional life. But we rarely stop to consider what those changes will demand of us. Because the life you want may require something your current life hasn't asked you to develop yet. Not because you're inadequate. Not because you need to reinvent yourself. But because every new season brings different pressures, responsibilities, uncertainties, and possibilities. In this episode of Mindfucks With Mahara, we're exploring the question that often gets overlooked in personal transformation: What will your next season require you to be able to hold? And what happens when your vision expands faster than your capacity? Enjoyed this episode? If this conversation gave you something to think about, I'd love to invite you to take the next step. #115 What If the Life You Want Isn't the Problem?

Have you ever questioned whether the life you want is realistic, or whether you have the emotional capacity to actually live it? Sometimes what looks like an impossible dream is simply a future we're measuring against who we are today. We start negotiating with ourselves. Lowering expectations. Calling our desires impractical. Convincing ourselves we're being responsible when we might actually be making our lives smaller to avoid the discomfort of growing into something bigger. But what if the vision isn't the problem? What if you're asking your current capacity to determine what's possible for a version of you that hasn't emerged yet? In this episode of MindFucks with Mahara, we're challenging the assumption that wanting more means expecting too much. Because there's a difference between a life that isn't possible and a life you haven't yet developed the capacity to hold. And that difference might change what you're willing to imagine. Conversations from the Capacity Lab™ What If You Didn’t Have to Make Yourself Smaller? | Amber Howard

INTRODUCING: Conversations from the Capacity Lab™ https://pod.fo/e/658ef3 What happens when being the person with the most capacity means you become the person who carries everything? In this first conversation from The Capacity Lab™, I sit down with Amber to explore capacity, responsibility, reciprocity, conscious creation, and the assumptions we make about what other people can — and cannot — hold. We talk about the difference between having the capacity to carry something and actually choosing to carry it; what happens when caring for others prevents them from showing us their own capacity; and why creating more reciprocal relationships may require us to stop deciding what other people can handle. Our conversation moves through curiosity versus judgment, the capacity to receive care, learning to do less, consciously creating our relationships, and the surprising amount of courage it can take to put something down. Because expanding your capacity isn't always about becoming able to carry more. Sometimes it's about finally having the capacity to ask: Is this actually mine to carry? Enjoyed this episode? #114 You Have More Choice Than You Think

Under pressure, our world gets smaller. “I have to.” “I can’t.” “There’s no other option.” But what if the circumstance is real and the absence of choice isn’t? In this episode of Mindfucks With Mahara, we explore how capacity shapes our perception of choice. When our internal capacity contracts, complexity disappears and life can begin to feel binary: stay or leave, speak or stay quiet, succeed or fail. Expanding capacity doesn’t eliminate consequences or magically create perfect alternatives. It gives us enough room to examine what’s actually true, what we’re afraid to hold, and what possibilities pressure may have hidden from view. Because sometimes the choice you “don’t have” is actually the choice whose consequences you don’t yet believe you can hold. And when that changes, what becomes possible? Explore your own capacity with the free 12-minute Capacity Compass™ audio reflection at mindfulnesswithmahara.com. Enjoyed this episode? Follow Mindfucks With Mahara and leave a review. It helps more people discover the conversations we’re having about capacity, identity, and what becomes possible when we can hold more. #113 Stop Measuring Growth by How You Feel

What if still feeling afraid, uncertain, or uncomfortable isn’t evidence that you haven’t grown? We often measure personal growth, healing, and self-trust by how much easier difficult experiences feel. If the fear is still there, we assume we’re not ready. If something still hurts, we question whether we’ve healed. If uncertainty remains, we wait for clarity before moving. Without realizing it, we start using emotional comfort as proof of progress. In this episode of Mindfucks With Mahara, I challenge that measurement. Capacity expansion doesn’t necessarily remove the emotion. It changes your relationship with it, and what that emotion gets to determine. Because you can feel exactly what you felt before and be an entirely different woman in relationship to it. The question may no longer be, “Why do I still feel this?” It may be something far more revealing.   Enjoyed this episode? #112 Your Life Is Already Giving You the Reps

What if the everyday discomfort you keep trying to avoid is actually how you build emotional capacity and self-trust? The conversations, decisions, boundaries, uncertainty, and moments of overthinking you encounter every day may be doing more than making you uncomfortable. We tend to think growth requires something extra: another course, a better practice, more confidence, or the right circumstances. Meanwhile, life keeps handing us moments that ask us to tolerate uncertainty, risk being misunderstood, rest without earning it, or act before we feel completely ready. In this episode of Mindfucks With Mahara, I explore a different way to see those moments. What if discomfort isn't always evidence that something has gone wrong? What if sometimes it's the rep? Because capacity isn't built somewhere outside your real life. Your life is already giving you the training ground. The question is whether you recognize the rep when it arrives.
