Exclusive: Creator of Disney Channel's Primos Natasha Kline

NEWS x MUSE Michael Sandoval talks with the creator and executive producer of the upcoming Disney Channel show Primos, Natasha Kline. Emmy® Award-nominated Natasha Kline is the creator and executive producer of Disney Channel's "Primos," a coming of age animated comedy that follows Tater Ramirez Humphrey, an eccentric girl with big dreams, determined to find what makes her extraordinary. When her 12 chaotic cousins ("primos" in Spanish) move in for the summer, they help her discover her true self. "Primos" marks Kline's first executive producer credit.   The series is based on Kline's childhood summers with her extended multicultural Mexican American family—her dad's family is from Tennessee, and her mom is firstgeneration, born in Los Angeles and her grandma is from Mexico City. She was inspired to work in entertainment after not seeing her family culture reflected on television.   A graduate of California State University, Fullerton, she was previously a director and writer on Disney Channel's hit "Big City Greens," the Emmy Award-nominated animated comedy-adventure series that follows the offbeat adventures of Cricket Green, who moved from the country to the big city with his wildly out of place family. Kline was nominated for an Emmy Award for Outstanding Writing for an Animated Program on the series.    With over a decade of experience in the animation industry as a storyboard artist, director, designer and writer, Kline's credits include "South Park," "The Lego Ninjago Movie," "BoJack Horseman" and "Home: Adventures with Tip & Oh."   Originally from Fontana, California, Kline currently resides in Los Angeles with her Boston Terrier, Beans. When she's not busy sketching, she can be found playing the ukulele or oil painting.
