Tommy Talk: WHAT MY ENGAGEMENT TAUGHT ME ABOUT LOVE

On this episode of “Tommy Talk,” Tommy takes you back to Paris in 2015 to share for the very first time the full story of the day his husband Gio surprised him with a proposal in front of the Eiffel Tower, and how one engagement photo unexpectedly became something much bigger than either of them could have imagined. After the photo went viral, Tommy and Gio began receiving deeply moving messages from the LGBTQ+ community who saw new possibilities for their own lives, as well as parents who felt more hopeful about the futures awaiting their children. The experience showed Tommy firsthand how powerful representation can be and that no matter what walk of life we come from, we all just want to feel seen. Eleven years later, Tommy reflects on everything that moment taught him including love still gives people hope, happiness is worth celebrating and that joy, even the joy of complete strangers, can bring us together. In a world that often feels divided, this episode is a heartfelt reminder that there is still so much goodness around us and so many people rooting for love to win. JAMES "MURR" MURRAY on the Truth About Impractical Jokers, Breaking Into Horror & Betting On Himself

This week, Tommy is joined by James “Murr” Murray, one of the funniest and most beloved comedians in the world. Audiences fell in love with Murr on the hit series Impractical Jokers, where he and his lifelong friends challenge one another to pull outrageous pranks and embarrass themselves in front of unsuspecting strangers. Now, Murr is flexing his horror muscles as the co-writer and producer of Don’t Move, the new movie based on his bestselling book of the same name. In this episode, Murr opens up about one of the most surprising parts of being a comedian, whether he ever gets tired of being the funny guy, and if any part of Impractical Jokers is staged. He also takes Tommy behind the scenes of what it really takes to bring the show to life, reveals which outrageous moments remain his favorites, explains why the group keeps politics out of its comedy, and shares why wearable technology gives him so much anxiety. Murr also discusses his journey into writing nine horror novels, adapting Don’t Move for the screen, and refusing to wait for someone else to give him permission to make the movie. He shares how he created the opportunity himself, names the one horror film he could watch for the rest of his life, and teases what audiences can expect from future seasons of Impractical Jokers. Murr also reflects on scaling the Empire State Building and opens up about one of the most difficult decisions of his life while his father was dying from Alzheimer’s disease. And don’t miss Murr’s rapid-fire “Hot Takes & Hangouts” interview, part two of this conversation, dropping Thursday, September 17! CHRIS OLSEN on Rehab, Rock Bottom & Learning to Love Himself

This week, Tommy is joined by Chris Olsen, an award-winning content creator and one of social media’s leading comedic voices. Named to the Forbes 30 Under 30 list, Chris is now peeling back his public persona in his new memoir, I Think My Therapist Hates Me, to reveal the messy, complicated truths beneath it. In this episode, Chris opens up about growing up gay and trying to fit in, grappling with the fear of being hated, and navigating the moments when he felt most misunderstood or misrepresented. He also reflects on having his first alcoholic drink at 14, how his struggles with addiction led to two separate stays in rehab, and what scares him most about the things he did while under the influence. Chris shares intimate details about his family’s emotional intervention, including the one letter that was never read to him and what his loved ones saw in him that he couldn’t see in himself at the time. He also discusses what led to his stay in a psychiatric hospital, what he remembers from that experience, if he has finally reached a place today where he truly loves himself, and whether he has been able to forgive himself for his past.
