Tamara Thungate shares her revelations during the Aluna Rose Retreat, reflects on previous awakenings and explains how they beautifully interwine igniting a new season of magic her in life.

Tamara, a hair and makeup artist from St. Louis, describes her experience at the women-only Aluna Rose ayahuasca retreat as one of the three most profound experiences of her life. After decades of spiritual exploration, a series of synchronicities ultimately led her to the retreat, where two nights of ceremony took her through an intense journey of surrender, healing, and self-discovery. Her first night was largely physical, involving powerful energetic releases and encounters with familiar spirit guides. On the second night, she revisited past-life experiences that revealed a deeply rooted pattern of hiding from life out of fear of pain. Faced with a symbolic choice to remain hidden or step fully into her power, Tamara chose to move forward, passing through a vivid dragon-eye portal and experiencing an overwhelming release that transformed into a feeling of strength, freedom, and empowerment. Her journey then expanded into what she experienced as healing along her maternal ancestral line. She witnessed generations of feminine spiritual power becoming suppressed through trauma and abuse, while recognizing her own mother as the person who stopped much of that pain from continuing forward. In a final vision, Tamara received an experience of healthy, powerful maternal love that brought both grief and profound healing. Since returning home, she says the experience has continued to unfold through stronger intuition, automatic writing, spiritual practices, and unexpected realizations in everyday life. Her husband describes her as “the same but more”—more open, loving, and fully herself. Tamara hopes to return to Aluna and is considering facilitator training, while encouraging anyone who genuinely feels called toward ayahuasca to approach the experience with openness and understand that the journey of integration continues long after the ceremony ends.
