    Peace Be With(in) You: A Mighty Morsel

    Even as a minister, I've always had a fickle relationship with peace. It seems so easy to say but often feels so hard to achieve. How does one hold a sense of calm and safety when, frankly, everything in the world right now feels like such bullsh*t? How does one return to a feeling of "unbothered" without spiritually bypassing the realities of systemic, institutionalized, and internalized oppression? Excellent questions.     P.S. I Love You: A Mighty Morsel

    In a culture that is wired for shame and self-loathing, how do we offer sweetness and compassion to our so-called inner critic and instead center our lives on the two most important relationships in it: with ourselves and with Spirit?  Appreciation of self shouldn't be an afterthought: how can we remind ourselves everyday we are not only worthy of love but wired for it?  This week, we begin to explore how we can open the aperture of our hearts—the root of our connection with Divine Love—to first offer tenderness to ourselves so we can be show up to the table of our other relationships centered in love and peace instead of searching for approval and validation.     What We've Forgotten: A Mighty Morsel

    From the moment we are born, it seems like our Western culture wants us to forget who we are. To homogenize us. To "widgit-ize" us. Whether it's the roles imposed on us, the rules of "polite society," the confines of traditional religious & social structures, the slow and crushing grind of our political and economic structures, or intergenerational trauma, somewhere along the way we lose touch with our vibrant and unique essence. Together, let's begin the slow and gentle process of remembering what we've forgotten so we can rebuild a world in its original image: the image of love.
