    Tapping into the Best Version of Yourself

    Get out of the mindset that people are better than you, that you can't reach their standard or status, that they're inherently above or better than you. Money, status, confidence, love, these are all attainable + rejecting yourself first from your ideal lifestyle/relationship/self-concept will keep you settling for crumbs. All the greats surpass their own standards and don't concern themselves with conforming to someone else's benchmark. You can't believe you deserve the best if you can't even imagine your proximity to the best. Believe in an abundance mindset, believe in your efforts, believe you are limitless, believe you are worthy. Believe you have a seat at the table and that any standard that rejects your best effort is a redirection to a better seat, or a better table.

    The Burden of Motherhood

    I've always believed that only women can heal other women. Bell Hooks, who is one of my favorite authors, said “rarely, if ever, are any of us healed in isolation. Healing is an act of communion.” This is just another love note empowering girls, women and mothers to heal and take control of their lives + wombs. When women heal themselves, they heal their mothers, their grandmothers, sisters, aunts, cousins, daughters, sons, friends, and ultimately, anyone they are connected with. We have exhausted the baby mama lifestyle y'all. There is no judgment here in anything I'm about to say because I am speaking to myself first and foremost, as a fellow baby mama. I'll say as I always have, I am not my sister's keeper I am my sister, Period. We are no different from each other. I say this with love + compassion + care + concern. That's my disclaimer.

    The Season of Rest

    et me tell you one thing, if I don't do nuthn else, I'm gone rest! In my silk robe. And, not feel guilty about it. When you take care of other people + business constantly, you shouldn't be afraid to rest. You deserve to rest. I used to feel so guilty about resting. Especially being a mother, working hard like I do, I still would feel bad about it. My anxiety about it was unhealthy. And I don't work a typical schedule all the time. Any day of the week I could be working 9-5 or traveling for days at a time, or working at night into the early morning hours, making my own dreams come true. I used to feel guilty about it, overthinking everything. Black women are good for that. As soon as she lies down, those intrusive thoughts like "omg I'm being lazy, I'm not doing enough, stay "busy". Exhausted. Over worked. Trying to break generational curses. Taking care of my home. Emotionally + physically depleted. Rest is so necessary on this journey called life. Because *deep sigh.* The stereotypical, strong black, independent, traumatized, single, oldest daughter + mother, who year after year has to put herself last, and appeal to everyone else's better nature, is not healthy, no matter who tells you otherwise!

    We're Stuck in a Loop

    I just want us to be freed from the shackles of having the same conversations. The moment we let that hurt go and begin to talk about things that serve us, fruitfully + abundantly is the day we thrive. Change the narrative, have better conversations. Live a life that is full for you. As long as no one is being harmed let's talk about something else, literally.
