Root Cause Healing With Faith And PQ

You can love Jesus, know the scripture, and still feel trapped in patterns you cannot break. That tension is exactly where this conversation goes. We sit down with Shonna Vaughan, a board-certified health and wellness coach and clinical herbalist, to talk about why “take your thoughts captive” can feel so hard in real life, especially when anxiety, hypervigilance, and future-tripping kick in. We start with prayer and a surprising question: What if success is real, but we miss it because it does not arrive in the gift wrap we expected? From there, we dig into the hidden resistance that shows up when someone wants to change but cannot. Shonna explains how Positive Intelligence (PQ) gives clear language for the unseen obstacle, the saboteurs, and the inner Judge that sabotage progress even when the plan is good and motivation is strong. We connect that to root cause healing, not symptom management, and explain why chronic stress must be addressed if we want lasting change. We also explore what it looks like to pursue health and restoration as whole people, body, emotions, and spirit, because nothing happens in isolation. We close with the heart of it: self-compassion as self-care, living from belovedness, and learning to pause and ask Jesus for perspective instead of labeling circumstances as good or bad.  If you have ever “given it to God” and then taken it right back, this will feel uncomfortably familiar and deeply hopeful. How to Invite God Into Your PQ Reps?

That moment when you’ve been faithful with PQ reps, you’ve built real awareness, and yet you can’t shake the feeling that there is still more; matters tremendously. In the last episode, we sat with the question: What if mental fitness was never the goal? In this episode, we sit with the question that stopped our group in its tracks: How do you invite God into your PQ sessions? Not as an add-on, not as religious wallpaper, but as an actual consent to God’s presence and action within. If you’re a Christian coach, a client, or simply someone using Positive Intelligence who feels a deeper pull, this conversation provides you with the language and next steps. We walk through a five-stage progression we’ve seen again and again as believers integrate PQ and Christianity. We talk about PQ as a mirror, the point where God sets a “door” in front of you, and how transformation moves from inward awareness to outward love. We connect the saboteurs to patterns you can spot in Scripture, revisit Mary and Martha as a picture of being and doing together, and name the Fruit of the Spirit as evidence that God is at work beyond technique. Then we get very practical: we share a one-line prayer you can use before a session, a meeting, or in the middle of a hard day: “I consent to your presence and action within.” We also introduce centering prayer as a contemplative practice that pairs naturally with PQ, including choosing a sacred word, gently returning when thoughts arise, and learning the sacred pause as a shift from attention to intention. If your desire for “more” keeps growing, you’re not broken; you might be receiving an invitation. Here is the link to the episode on centering prayer.  Subscribe for more faith-forward tools, share this with a friend who’s doing PQ, and leave a review if it helps. What’s the “more” you’ve been sensing lately? Send us a message If you are a PQ Coach and a member of the community, please take a moment to complete the survey. 3. What If Mental Fitness Was Never The Goal

What If Mental Fitness Was Never The Goal

The loudest pressure in your life might not be a sign to push harder. It might be a sign to return to the inner room. We begin with a guided contemplation on Matthew 11:28 and Matthew 6:6, in which Jesus invites the weary to come as they are and to rest in God’s already-present love. The question that hangs in the air is practical and personal: what would it look like to stop visiting that inner room and start living from it? From there, we wrestle with a theme many coaches, leaders, and busy believers feel right now: Positive Intelligence (PQ) can be helpful for mental fitness, but what if it is also an invitation into deeper communion with God? We talk about saboteurs as the noisy thought patterns that derail wholeness, and how PQ reps can create a pause between trigger and response. For us, that pause is not an empty space. It becomes a place to sense God, hear the still small voice, and choose presence over performance. We also explore “sacred convergence” as neuroscience, psychology, and theology begin to use overlapping universal language to describe and confirm what Scripture has taught for centuries. We share a coaching lens that prioritizes healing and belovedness before conversion, and we unpack a powerful image from the miracle at Cana: six empty jars, filled to the brim, then poured out as the “best for last.” The closing challenge is clear: make time to enter the inner room, practice abiding presence, and let God fill what you keep trying to power through. If this resonates, subscribe, share this with a coach or friend who feels worn down, and leave a review telling us where you most need to live from the inner room. 4. What If Being Still Is The Bravest Choice

What If Being Still Is The Bravest Choice

Striving can look like faithfulness on the outside while it quietly drains you on the inside. We sit with a sharper question: are we living by willpower and control, or are we being invited into willingness and surrender with God? We open with grace guidelines, prayer, and a guided contemplation that leads us into the “inner room,” that secret place where Psalm 91 becomes personal. As the group shares what they notice, the theme gets practical fast: the Judge shows up, comparison creeps in at work, and even good intentions can turn into pressure when we try to force outcomes. We talk about how Jesus moves through life without grasping or hurrying, and what that reveals about our own nervous system, attention, and spiritual formation. Then we draw a clear line between willfulness (willpower) and willingness, using real stories from caregiving stress and seasons of grief where sorrow and joy coexist. We connect Positive Intelligence (PQ) saboteurs like  Hyper -Achiever, Controller, Stickler, Pleaser, and Avoider to the old patterns of our nature and the flesh, and we explore language that creates freedom: “It’s the saboteur” instead of “It’s me.” That shift makes room to invite the Holy Spirit into coaching sessions, relationships, emails, and hard conversations, and it brings us back to identity: You are the Beloved, not the verdict. If you want a Christian take on PQ reps, surrender, and emotional resilience that still feels grounded in Scripture, press play.  Subscribe, share this with a friend who’s tired of striving, and leave a review. 5. A Guided Walk With Jesus On The Road To Emmaus

A Guided Walk With Jesus On The Road To Emmaus

You can be faithful and still be frantically rushed. We know that feeling, and it’s exactly why we slow the whole room down with a guided Christian meditation on the Road to Emmaus (Luke 24). We start with the body because hurry lives there first: feet grounded, breath steady, tension released. Then we walk the road in our imagination and let Jesus ask the question that cuts through noise: “What are you discussing?” No fixing. No striving. Just his calm presence beside us. From the road we move to the table, to bread broken, and to that quiet moment when “their eyes were opened.” We talk about what gets revealed when we stop pushing and striving for outcomes and instead practice presence. Several members of the community share what we notice in real time: a sense of peace, warmth, clarity, and sometimes a simple, subtle shift that still changes everything. If you’ve been craving spiritual formation that feels both biblical and honest about modern pressure, this is for you. We also get practical about “being and doing” and how the saboteurs (Hyper -Achiever, Controller, Stickler) turn life with God into performance. We connect identity to Scripture, returning to the core truth that we are the beloved, and we explore Positive Intelligence PQ reps as tiny pauses that help rewire autopilot and create space to listen. We close with one-word takeaways and a question you can carry into your week: Where might Christ be walking with you right now?  Subscribe, share this with a friend who’s been running on empty, and leave a review so more people can find this conversation. 6. Walking with Christ on the Road Contemplation

Walking with Christ on the Road Contemplation

You can walk for miles with a heavy heart and still miss the fact that you’re accompanied. We guide a short, quiet contemplation rooted in Luke 24 and the Road to Emmaus, slowing everything down until your body settles and your attention returns. From there, we step onto the Emmaus Road in imagination and notice what we’re carrying right now: disappointments, hopes, fears, and the inner conversations that never quite stop. Then Jesus draws near without correcting or rushing, and he asks the question that cuts through noise: “What are you discussing as you walk along?” We sit with that prompt long enough to answer honestly, without filtering, and to experience prayer as being listened to rather than evaluated. The scene shifts to the table where bread is taken, blessed, broken, and shared. We watch for what opens inside us not through striving, but through presence: warmth, clarity, peace, or even a small quiet shift that signals we’re not alone. When you finish, you’ll leave with one practical question to carry into your day: Where might Christ already be walking with you, and what have you not recognized? If this contemplation helped you, subscribe, share it with a friend who needs steadiness, and leave a review so more listeners can find it. Good Friday Reminder: Living Loved

Good Friday has a way of cutting through the noise, and that’s exactly what this message is meant to do. After sitting with it for weeks, we finally release what’s been on our hearts for our PQ for Christians community: you are God’s Beloved, and your identity is not something you earn through performance, productivity, or pain. We want these words to go in deep and reshape how you see yourself when you’re tired, afraid, striving, or stuck. We read Paul’s prayer from Ephesians 1, tracing the gospel’s language of blessing, adoption, redemption, forgiveness, and lavish grace. Then we pray what Paul prayed: that God would give you wisdom and revelation, that the eyes of your heart would be enlightened, and that you would know hope, inheritance, and the power available to those who believe. If you’ve been craving a clearer, steadier Christian identity and a more grounded inner life, this is a place to breathe and remember what’s true. From there, we share our Belovedness Manifesto, a practical declaration for Christian coaching, leadership, and spiritual formation. We talk about presence and sacred community, blessing others as we’ve been blessed, becoming bearers of belovedness, and learning to hold the thin line tension between the already and the becoming. We close by anchoring everything in the unchanging love of God, the love that casts out fear.  If this strengthens you, subscribe, share it with someone who needs to hear it, and leave a review with the line that hit you most. 8. Living Loved: Inviting God into Accept or Convert

    Mar 9

Living Loved: Inviting God into Accept or Convert

In our March PQ for Christians gathering, we continued the conversation that began in February around the Positive Intelligence (PQ) tool of Accept or Convert. But this time we asked a deeper and more sacred question: How do we invite God into the Accept or Convert process? What began as a coaching conversation quickly became a spiritual encounter. Together, we explored how prayer, pause, and discernment open the door for the Holy Spirit to guide our decisions, release offenses, and transform our responses to life’s challenges. Drawing from the biblical example of David inquiring of the Lord and Christ’s prayer of surrender in the Garden of Gethsemane, the community reflected on how true acceptance and conversion are not merely mental strategies, but acts of trust rooted in God’s presence and love. Participants shared personal stories of navigating uncertainty, learning to distinguish between saboteur-driven reactions and Spirit-led guidance, and discovering the peace that comes when our decisions align with God’s will. Through Scripture, prayer, and contemplative reflection—including a river meditation, the group practiced releasing burdens and allowing God’s presence to carry what we cannot. In this powerful conversation, we explored: How to invite God into the Accept or Convert processThe difference between saboteur reactions and Holy Spirit discernmentWhy pausing in prayer creates space for clarity and peaceHow Christ’s example of kenosis (self-emptying) models surrender and trustThe role of community, prayer, and contemplative practice in spiritual growthThis episode is an invitation to slow down, listen deeply, and allow God to guide the moments where we must choose whether to accept what is or convert toward something new.
