Diagnosed with ADHD in her mid twenties, host Raelene Sebastian created the NYNT Podcast (thanks to hyperfixation) to connect with the people in this community and to reflect and learn about her own diagnosis. Each episode delves into a range of topics related to neurodivergence, highlighting the unique experiences and challenges faced by real people. Not Your Neurotypical Podcast aims to create an informative, supportive and safe space for neurodivergent individuals and their allies to connect, learn, and grow together. Joe Wells made his name as a political comedian with critically acclaimed Fringe shows including 'Night Of The Living Tories', '10 Things I Hate About UKIP' and 'I Hope I Die Before I Start Voting Conservative', in recent years he has moved into more personal material about mental health and being autistic.Joe is a favourite amongst other comedians and has supported Frankie Boyle, Alexei Sayle and Stephen K Amos.In 2020 Joe went viral with his stand up clip 'Joe Wells on having a non-autistic brother' which gained over 1.3 million views across Twitter, Facebook and YouTube.Joe recently took part in Dave’s The Comedy Guide To Life! which was used on their social media channels.Joe’s also has his own podcast called: Neurodivergent MomentsIn our conversation we discussed his book 30 Neurodivergent pepople you should know about, imposter syndrome, OCD, gender bias, safe spaces and art!Note to the listeners, when I interviewed Joe he was sharing a space during his Edinburgh Fringe gigs, so there may be some background noise and I apologise for this!At one point Joe had to relocate to the bathroom so we could continue our chat in peace and we share some great laughs.     Episode 9 with Jacinta: "Autism and ADHD challenges are not recognised" * Jacinta Dietrich is a neurodivergent and bisexual writer, editor and podcaster based in Naarm, Melbourne. She is the founder and co-host of Differently Brained, an own voices podcast where each fortnight they interview a neurodivergent guest or a guest who has experienced mental health challenges. They have been featured on Apple Podcasts and regularly chart in the Australian and New Zealand Health & Fitness and Mental Health categories. Jacinta is an emerging voice in this community, advocating for better representation and less stigma. " ✶ Amy Green is a data and systems expert with over 14 years of experience in the Vocational Education and Training (VET) sector, and has held various roles that have allowed her to explore leadership and staff management where her fascination with human behaviour could really be explored. Always one to view things from multiple perspectives, Amy draws upon her personal experiences as an autistic ADHD, multiply disabled, queer woman, using this experience to better empathise with, understand, and help others who may be misunderstood.Amy's dedicated to fostering inclusion, particularly neuro-inclusion within the workplace, driving her mission to create supportive and accessible work environments for neurodivergent folks. Lending her expertise to various human resources teams within the VET sector, she advocates for education and acceptance of disability, sharing her own lived experience openly in the hopes to inspire positive change for newcomers to the workforce.With dreams of becoming an allied health professional, Amy aspires to work closely with the autistic ADHD community, providing much-needed support and understanding. Outside of her professional pursuits, Amy indulges in her pug obsession and harbors a deep love for fluffy Highland cows. "Is it the person that is disabled, or is the environment that is disabling them?" ✶ Patricia is the Founder/Director of Social Living Solutions and creator of the Family Joy Program.Neurodivergent herself, Patricia’s vision is for a world where people who identify as neurodivergent are accepted, integrated, and recognised as valued members of society. She aspires to remove the misconceptions around neurodiversity and replace ignorance with understanding. Among her many achievements, Patricia, is an active volunteer in her community and internationally through the Global Goodwill Ambassadors network and as a neurodiversity consultant to the 2023 Gay Games, in Hong Kong. She has been a finalist in both the ACT Chief Minister’s Inclusion Awards for People with Disability. She has recently spoken at the International Conference Autism Network (ICAN), 2023 in Dubai, and was keynote at the OzWater ‘23 conference in Sydney, Australia.Patricia is such an inspiration to me, and her work is valuable to our community. Just as well, as she was recognised for her work and received the Medal of Order of Australia.In my conversation with Patricia, we discussed masking, our shared experiences with having an asian background and disabling environments. I was fortunate enough to meet Patricia personally, and she shared some great advice with me.
