Natalie Atwell argues that if you ignore the unseen realm, you miss the real battle - and the real path to healing.Returning to the Prometheus Lens Podcast, Dr. Natalie Atwell, a licensed clinical mental health counselor and adjunct faculty member at Liberty University, explains why she believes spiritual warfare is showing up in anxiety, self-harm, suicide ideation, relational breakdown, and even the ideas now being pushed inside parts of the mental health field. Her new book, Humanity Under Siege: The Unseen Realm and the Spiritual War Against the Mind, takes that case further by tying modern struggles back to the biblical rebellions in Genesis 3, 6, and 11. You’ll hear how Dr. Atwell separates ordinary mental health struggles from possible spiritual oppression, why she created her “other influences assessment,” and what questions she asks about new age practices, ritual abuse, dark sexual experiences, haunted environments, and other open doors clinicians often miss. She also breaks down why she sees the Enneagram, astrology, tarot, yoga, and psychedelics as Trojan horses that can quietly reshape how Christians view identity, healing, and holiness. We also get practical: how to vet a counselor’s worldview before you book an appointment, why informed consent matters, why medication alone is not enough when the root issue is spiritual, and how to recognize when someone needs immediate help. Along the way, Doc Brown and Natalie connect Michael Heiser’s divine council worldview, the “three rebellions,” and the biblical call to image God well in a world full of counterfeit answers. Essential listening if you’re trying to discern what is mental health, what is spiritual warfare, and how to help people without handing darkness a seat at the table.Natalie Atwell is a licensed clinical mental health therapist, adjunct faculty member at Liberty University, and founder of Mental Warrior Consulting. She specializes in a biblical approach to counseling and is the author of Humanity Under Siege. ==================== 🍎 Apple Podcast: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/prometheus-lens/id1701912463 🎧 Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/show/6aUS57bWUuyAL0y9nmrBEX?si=_amAFj7wT8meWhgtzGpgBQ ==================== 📕 🦧 📖 The Epic of Esau book: https://a.co/d/dU8d7x9 ==================== 💴 💰 🪙📈 Want to Escape the financial beast system and secure your hard earned money? $1,000 invested into silver in the 60s would be almost $30,000 today!
