Your Perimenopausal Sleep Wishes Granted by Endy: Women’s Health, Perimenopause and Menopause Journey

We asked our community what their perimenopause sleep wishes were. Turns out, we’re all looking for the same things: to stay asleep, wake up without pain, stop the duvet dance, and for the love of all things holy, to feel rested again.  In this episode, we sat down with Endy insiders, Erin Gray and Van Kutrowski and discovered that we can’t blame all our sleepless nights on hormones and stress. It could be that our mattresses are the missing piece in our perimenopausal sleep toolkits. In this episode: Why temperature fluctuations during sleep could be a sign your sleep environment needs an upgradeWhy you might be waking up with hip and shoulder pain and why side sleepers need to pay special attentionWhy the mattress that worked perfectly in your 30s may not be cutting it anymore, because you've changed, even if your mattress hasn'tHow your partner (or your dog) could be the reason you’re waking at 2 a.m., and what to do about itWhy your pillow could be sabotaging an otherwise great mattress, and how to find the right loft for the way you sleepThe bedding and layering strategies that work with your cooling mattress instead of against it Don't miss this one. Let Erin and Van help you reclaim your rest so that you can rise to shine!  This episode is part of our Endy Reclaim Your Rest Sleep Series - helping you wake up rested, focused, and ready to take on whatever the day brings.  Endy is Canada’s leading online mattress brand, trusted by over 1 million sleepers.

Connect with Mikelle & Michelle at This is PerimenopauseEmail us and let us know what you think of the podcast and what topic you want us to cover next.Sign up for our weekly newsletterFollow This Is Perimenopause on InstagramFollow This Is Perimenopause on Facebook Biographie: Dre Karen Desrosiers  Le Dre Karen Desrosiers est une obstétricienne- gynécologue et médecin certifié en ménopause par The Menopause Society. She's been referred to as "the doctor that other doctors call" when they need to consult on complex women's gynaecological health issues. They call her because of her curiosity, education, research, and clinical experience with conditions and symptoms that impact women, from first period to last. They become her respected colleagues and friends because of her reputation as a physician who is incredibly collaborative, caring, and loyal. Dr. Jacobson is especially passionate about perimenopause and the menopause transition — through her research and clinical practice, she sees how many women unnecessarily experience a decline in quality of life during midlife. She funnels that passion and advocacy into educating other physicians, policymakers, and the general public on the urgency for changes to medical protocols and for greater support for menopausal women. As a BRCA gene carrier herself, she is equally passionate about assessing and managing hereditary cancer risk. Committed to advancing early detection, treatment, and patient support, her research in this area has led to the development of a national community of practice in hereditary breast and ovarian cancer that she created and chairs. At the intersection of both of her passions, she has used her research and clinical experience in menopause — particularly premature menopause due to oncologic therapies, hereditary cancer syndromes, and Turner's Syndrome — to provide a niche contribution to the global literature. Bottom line: she cares deeply for women and their wellbeing, and she is committed to making patient-centric changes to our standard of care.
