    Fairway Conversations is back! Looking a little different. In this episode, I talk about where the podcast has been, where it’s going, and why I decided to take the show in a new direction. At 49 and closing in on 50, I keep coming back to one question: How good can a regular working guy actually get after 50? I’m a corporate working professional, a 6-handicap golfer, and a HYROX athlete. I don’t have unlimited time to train, play golf, recover, or work on my game. I’ve got the same responsibilities most people do. But I still want to find out what I’m capable of. On the golf side, the goal is simple: Break 80 Anywhere. Not just at my home course or somewhere I know every bounce, I want to build a game that travels. On the fitness side, I’m stepping into the HYROX 50–54 division and asking another question: Can I actually become competitive in my age group? And then there’s everything that goes with it; training, recovery, nutrition, equipment, sleep, work, family, travel, mistakes, failures, and figuring out what actually works. This episode also reintroduces Gabe the CaliLobo, the mindset behind this next chapter, and a new level of accountability. I’m not just going to talk about getting better. I’m going to set goals, test myself, track the results, and come back here and tell you exactly what happened — good or bad. No pretending that I have everything figured out.     S3 EP 7 of Fairway Conversations: 5 Days In Utah

    Welcome back to another episode of Fairway Conversations — today, Gabe and Gabriel recap one of their most memorable golf weekends yet. From fitness wins to a perfectly planned bachelor party trip, this episode covers it all. Gabe shares how he knocked out a 5K with a solid time just over 28 minutes, while Gabriel talks about his supplement stack and staying sharp with his routine. But the real action? It was on the course. The guys walk through a four-round golf getaway—meticulously organized by Gabriel—featuring two stunning courses. Soldier Hollow quickly became a group favorite with its smooth layout and perfect playing conditions. Meanwhile, the Canyons brought mountain terrain and plenty of challenge. Team dynamics played a huge role, and yes—there was a little scoring drama along the way. The third round at Wasatch Mountain had the most fireworks: clutch shots, trash talk, and a few personal bests. The final round crowned a tournament champ, and the last day wrapped with a relaxed scramble and an unforgettable hole-in-one that had everyone buzzing. More than anything, it was the camaraderie, laughs, and shared experience that made the weekend truly special. Stick around—because this one’s about more than scorecards.
