What If You're Not As Stuck As You Think?

What if you're not as stuck as you think? Sometimes the way forward doesn't begin with pushing harder. It begins by questioning what you think the problem is. In this episode of Thriving Entrepreneur, Steve Kidd talks with Linda Jo Sego, author of When the Universe Whispers: Listening for the Light Beneath an Open Sky. Linda's book grew from a season of deep personal pain and a recurring realization that there was more to who she was than she remembered. For Linda, peace isn't pretending everything is fine. It's feeling safe.Secure.Loved.Present.No longer trapped in tomorrow's anxiety or yesterday's regret. One of the most powerful stories she shares began in childhood while peacefully floating in the water. A thought came to her:“ If you ever feel like you're going to drown, just float.”Decades later, while being pulled under by waves in Peru and reaching physical exhaustion, that childhood thought returned. She stopped fighting. She floated, and eventually the water carried her back in.For Linda, it became a profound reminder that sometimes guidance isn't absent. Sometimes we're simply too busy fighting to hear it. Then Patrick Manning brings the conversation into the practical world of entrepreneurship. Patrick helps business owners understand alternative capital, financing options, transparency, business opportunity and how access to the right resources can change what forward movement actually looks like. Because sometimes “there's no way forward” really means:“I haven't seen all the available paths yet.” Steve closes with “You're Not Stuck. You're Just in the Wrong Nest.”Using the story of an eagle raised among chickens, Steve asks what happens when we adapt so completely to an environment that we begin mistaking adaptation for identity. Nothing was wrong with the eagle's wings. It had simply forgotten what they were for. Maybe you're not broken. Maybe you're not incapable. Maybe you're not even stuck. Maybe it's time to get quiet enough to hear, look honestly at the options around you, and remember what kind of person you actually are. What If Nothing Is Wrong With You?

What if the thing you've spent years trying to fix isn't actually what's wrong? Maybe you've been underestimated. Counted out. Tried to fit somewhere that never really fit you. Learned to ask permission before being fully yourself.Apologized for the very thing that makes you different. Or talked yourself out of something because the evidence around you didn't yet say it would work. This episode of Thriving Entrepreneur begins with Pat Miller, author of Underdog to Empire: Breaking Barriers and Building Businesses with Strength, Strategy and a Sense of Humor. Pat knows what it means to be underestimated. After losing her husband and business partner, she rebuilt Blue Diamond from the ground up while navigating an industry where she repeatedly had to prove herself. She shares what it took to keep showing up, grow the company, remain authentic, refuse to compete in a race to the bottom, and stop allowing her own mind to talk her out of what she knew she could build. Then Steve Kidd takes the conversation somewhere deeply personal. What if you've been trying to fit into the wrong puzzle? When did we start asking permission to be ourselves? What if your greatest gift is the thing you've spent years apologizing for? What if the thing you're avoiding is actually the thing that's trying to save you? And what happens when you finally take the step...but nothing outside you appears to change? Maybe more changed than you think.Because sometimes the evidence comes later. Sometimes the decision comes first. And sometimes the beginning isn't becoming somebody new. It's finally questioning whether the person you've spent years trying to correct was ever the problem in the first place. Featuring Pat Miller and Steve Kidd on Thriving Entrepreneur. Are You Still Choosing the Life You're Living?

How much of the life you're living today did you actually choose? And how much of it simply became your life because you've been doing it for so long? In this episode of Thriving Entrepreneur, Steve Kidd talks with three guests exploring that question from very different directions. James Summers, Bloom Growth Coach, spent years as the classic hustle-driven founder—the person who believed the business worked because he personally dragged it forward. Then he collapsed in his office and was forced away for three months. The business didn't collapse. His team kept going. And James discovered something uncomfortable: his constant involvement wasn't necessarily fueling growth. In some ways, it was limiting it. Today, he helps founders build businesses that don't depend on them, develop stronger leadership teams, and multiply impact without simply multiplying their own hours. Then Shiraz Baboo, a Reality Interventionist, challenges us to look at the patterns we keep recreating—even the ones we say we don't want. What if struggle, overwork, fixing problems, scarcity or constantly sacrificing yourself have become so familiar that part of you keeps rebuilding them? His work asks a provocative question: if we're going to reinforce patterns anyway, can we consciously choose different ones? Next, Stacie Shifflett, founder of Modern Consciousness® and author of Treasure Map to Joy, explores self-understanding, discernment and intentional choice. As Stacie puts it, we can spend years executing against decisions we made long ago without ever stopping to ask whether those decisions still belong to the life we're living now. More information doesn't automatically make us better at understanding our own lives. Sometimes we need better questions. Steve closes the episode with “What If Your Dream Doesn't Have to Impress Anyone?” Because perhaps the question isn't whether your business, life or dream looks impressive enough from the outside. Maybe it's simpler: Are you still choosing it? Featuring James Summers, Shiraz Baboo, Stacie Shifflett and Steve Kidd on Thriving Entrepreneur. You Don't Need the Whole Answer to Live Today

What if you don't need to know how everything turns out before you decide how you're going to live today? n this episode of Thriving Entrepreneur, Steve Kidd is joined by Connie Sylvester-Beier, author of the newly updated and expanded Divinely Guided, founder and CEO of Water Rescue Innovations, and inventor of ARM-LOC®. Connie's story is one of entrepreneurship, resilience, faith and refusing to hand somebody else control of what her life could become. Her “Never Lower the Bar” story offers a particularly powerful reminder that our standards aren't only revealed when people are watching—they're revealed by the choices we make when nobody would know the difference. From there, Steve explores four questions that meet us in the middle of ordinary life: What if today still has permission to surprise you? What is actually yours to do today—not the entire problem, the whole week or the complete future, but the part that belongs to you now? Who told you that you needed permission to want what you want, change your mind, pursue the dream that matters to you, or stop chasing one that no longer fits? And what does faith look like before the answer—while the water is still deep, the fire is still hot and you don't yet have the ending that makes everything easy to explain? Maybe you don't need the whole answer today. Maybe you need enough openness to be surprised, enough clarity to know what is yours, enough authority to choose, and enough faith to take the next step before you know exactly where it leads. Don't Slow Down. Get Aligned.

What if the answer isn't to slow down? And what if it also isn't to push harder? In this episode of Thriving Entrepreneur, Steve Kidd explores the difference between the natural momentum of being fully yourself and the exhausting motion that comes from trying to force your life into something it was never meant to be. Steve begins with a realization from his own creative life. For years, he apologized for the speed of his mind—the ideas, rabbit trails, songs, possibilities and seemingly endless urge to create. But what if that isn't something to fix? What if the thing you've spent years trying to slow down simply needs the right environment, tools and support? Then Steve is joined by Lark Dean Galley, author of Intentional Manifesting, for a conversation about moving beyond wishful thinking and becoming deliberate about what you're creating in your life. Lark shares how devastating loss forced her to reconsider what truly mattered, why we're always creating outcomes whether we're conscious of it or not, and how clarity, visualization and inspired action can begin turning intention into reality. And then comes the apparent contradiction: Be still. Because stillness isn't the opposite of momentum. Sometimes it's where you finally hear which direction your momentum was meant to go. Steve explores why quiet seasons can make us panic, hustle and assume something has gone wrong—and why those same seasons may actually give us the space to reassess, realign and reconnect with who we really are. You don't necessarily need to become slower. You don't need to become busier. You may simply need to become more aligned. Because consistency isn't grinding your way toward somebody you're supposed to become. It's learning how to be who you already are—more consistently. This episode is an invitation to stop apologizing for the way you were made, stop mistaking frantic activity for progress, get intentional about what you actually want, and create enough stillness to hear where you're meant to go next. Maybe you don't need fixing. Maybe you need alignment. Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/thriving-entrepreneur--6467102/support.

    Belief, Identity & Momentum

What if the thing holding you back isn't a lack of strategy—but the fact that you haven't fully decided to believe in the person carrying it? In this episode of Thriving Entrepreneur, Steve Kidd explores three things that have to come together if you want to create meaningful momentum in your life and business: belief, identity, and intentional movement. It starts with believing in yourself before asking the world to believe in you. Your worth isn't determined by views, likes, sales, followers, or whether something goes viral. Sometimes one person receiving what you created—even years from now—is enough to change the trajectory of a life. Then Steve goes deeper: before the branding, the presentation, the book, the offer, or the stage, you have to know who is showing up. The things that come most naturally to you are often the very things you underestimate because they feel too easy to be valuable. But knowing who you are—and why you care about what you care about—is where clarity and certainty begin. Finally, it's time to move. Momentum doesn't begin when you arrive on the stage, close the client, publish the book, or reach the destination. Like preparing for a journey, you're already in motion long before departure. The question is whether that motion has intention behind it.Because trains don't rush. They move with intention. And maybe that's the real invitation of this episode: believe in the person you already are, know what is uniquely yours to bring, and get your existing momentum on track toward the difference only you can make. The Human Side of Getting Attention

What happens when we stop treating people like data points, email addresses, or targets—and start getting curious about the actual human on the other side? On this episode of Thriving Entrepreneur, Steve Kidd sits down with three very different guests exploring research, relationships, marketing, creativity, and the human connection underneath all of them. Maria Vorovich and Holland Martini of GoodQues take us inside the world of consumer research—and show why better answers often begin with better questions. From “waffle brain” and “spaghetti brain” to Fortune 500 research and AI, they explore how data becomes useful when we remember that the numbers represent actual people. Then Ely Delaney, creator of The Follow Up Code, challenges the way entrepreneurs think about their lists and follow-up. A bigger database isn't necessarily a better one. Sometimes the real opportunity is reconnecting with the people already there, intentionally building relationships, providing value before making another offer, and remembering that communication doesn't begin and end with email. Finally, Kate Wolff of Lupine Creative takes us into experiential and stunt marketing, where getting attention isn't simply about being louder. From work with major brands and startups to creative concepts like Lumi Cup, Kate explores what happens when marketing starts with the audience, how AI is changing creative work, and why human judgment and nuance still matter. Three conversations. Three very different parts of business. One question running quietly underneath all of them: Do you actually understand the people you're trying to reach? Because research can give you data. Technology can help you follow up. Creativity can get someone's attention. But somewhere on the other side of all of it... there's still a person. From the Scar to the Signal: Stop Performing and Let People Meet You

There is a difference between telling your story and bleeding on people. There is a difference between having a voice and performing one. And there is a difference between being visible and actually being known. In this episode of Thriving Entrepreneur, Steve Kidd brings together three conversations that all lead to the same place: real impact begins when you stop trying to manufacture a version of yourself and start letting people encounter what is actually true. Cindy Benezra, author of Under the Orange Blossoms, shares what it means to write from the scar instead of the open wound — to tell the truth about pain without allowing the pain to own the story. Willie J explores the power of authentic voice, the difference between momentum and meaningful impact, and why becoming well known matters far less than becoming more fully yourself. His work around Eternal Love becomes part of a larger conversation about creating from something real enough that your signature remains recognizable wherever you go. And Steve brings the episode home with a simple challenge: Stop performing. Start connecting. Perfect lighting, polished delivery, credentials, filters, strategy, and flawless production may help people notice you. But they do not automatically help people trust you. Trust grows when your real heart comes through. When people know what you stand for. When they encounter you consistently. When they begin to feel like they actually know the person behind the message. That is where visibility becomes connection. That is where a book becomes more than a book. That is where a song becomes more than a song. And that is where your story stops being something you survived and starts becoming a signal someone else can recognize. Because the goal is not to impress everyone. It is to make the impact only you can make. Show Notes In this episode, Cindy Benezra, Willie J, and Steve Kidd explore healing, authentic voice, visibility, and the difference between performance and connection. Cindy shares why powerful storytelling comes from the scar rather than the bleeding wound. Willie J talks about protecting your authentic voice, compounding the right kind of momentum, and choosing impact over clout. Steve closes with why clarity, consistency, and connection matter more than polished performance when you want the right people to truly know, like, and trust you Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/thriving-entrepreneur--6467102/support.
