    Why The Church Must Participate In Politics

    You cannot read the Bible and ignore the political realm. The Bible is thick with politics. We have four books, 1 and 2 Kings, 1 and 2 Chronicles, that deal with the rule and reign of government leaders. Scripture is packed with political concerns, including laws, statutes, ordinances, kingdoms, empires, courts, judges, kings, queens, taxes, and so much more. God is active on virtually every page, engaging in the political affairs of humanity for both blessing and judgment. You might say that the Bible is a political textbook, since God is seen setting up nations and writing constitutions and bylaws. He both establishes governments and dismantles them. He places people in strategic political roles and removes others from the political purchase. Given this reality, it is unfortunate that God and politics are far too often disconnected from each other, as though connecting them too closely is anathema or forbidden. The failure to properly connect God's relationship to politics based on his word has left individuals, political leaders, and nations void of the knowledge needed to govern society as the creator intended it to be.     Heavenly Calling

    Heavenly Calling - Not an earthly calling. Israel as a nation had an earthly calling but ended in failure. This earthly calling had earthly land possessions, earthly blessing, promises, material temple, city and sacrifices, worship and religion. It was a call that came from heaven, but a vocation or destiny on earth. But the Church has a call that comes from heaven to earth, to take a heavenly people from the earth to heaven. All that pertains to the Church is of heavenly origin and vocation. It is not of earth nor on earth. The ultimate purpose is to lead us to heavenly things. The Church is a redeemed people, redeemed out of the earth, to fulfill God's purpose in earth, then to be taken ultimately to a new heavens and a new earth (Rev.21:1-2). All is "heavenly."     Environments For Prophetic People (To Grow And Flourish)

    Being around those who prophesy can pull you into the prophetic flow. This is what happened to Saul. The Prophet Samuel said to Saul, “. . . you will meet a group of prophets coming down from the high place with a harp, a tambourine, a flute, and a lyre before them. And they will prophesy. And the Spirit of the LORD will come upon you, and you will prophesy with them. And you will be turned into another man” (1 Sam. 10:5–6). There are certain places and atmospheres that cause prophets to grow and flourish. I listed these here as a reminder so that you can see what places are geared toward prophetic activation, training, equipping, impartation, and confirmation.
