Through the Griffin Door

This was one of my go to podcasts while I trained for my most recent triathlon. It’s the perfect way to take my mind off a long training session and at the same time, listen to theories and ideas about my favorite ever series. What are you guys going to do when the series is over? My question is how would have the trio found and retrieved the Locket in the cave if Dumbledore hadn’t tracked it down? Dumbledore preforms magic well outside of any of the trio’s ability to find the locket and, as Dumbledore is actively dying when he drinks the potion it’s actually fortunate in the sense that nobody else has to. Kreacher is the only other person alive who knows of the lockets existence but Harry would have no reason to question him as the have never discovered RAB? Also, how does Regulus know what Horcruxes are? Would the Blacks, as an old wizard in family, have known about them? As Dumbledore has removed all Horcrux books from the school by the time Regulus arrives, he shouldn’t be able to find out about them at school…right? Or is it just something Voldemort has clearly made and effort to protect so he steals it? Thanks for the great podcast, would love to hear your thoughts!

Hey brother! Why is Slughorn so bad at modifying his own memories? Slughorn is otherwise a very powerful wizard - master in potions, good at occlumency (blocked Dumbledore), and even dueled Voldemort alongside McG and Kingsley in the Battle of Hogwarts. We know that both Voldemort and Hermione successfully modified other people’s memories in their teens - why couldn’t adult Slughorn, whose magical prowess supposedly exceeds teenage Hermione, not modify his own? Does it take a certain characteristic or talent in a specific kind of magic to modify memories? Or, is the mechanism for modifying your own memories different from that of modifying someone else’s?

Do you love Harry Potter? Do you love finding the small details? Then this podcast is for you! J and Ben are so in depth with everything and it’s so much fun. I’m almost done with Prisoner so I’m a bit behind but having been a fan of theirs for YEARS I can’t recommend them enough. My question is one that was brought up by the discussion of chapter 19 of prisoner. The review asked “what if Harry allowed Lupin to join the Horcrux hunt”. J talked about Harry leaving Ginny. My question is what if Ginny went on the hunt with them? I could see her getting pulled along when they disapparated from the wedding. Thanks guys!
