    Full Family Pick: Oppenheimer (2023)

    Tune in to the FINAL episode of BBPF Season 1 for... you guessed it! We pulled a Barbenheimer. Join us for discussion of Christopher Nolan's epic 2023 biopic, Oppenheimer. Frankly, Cathy schools the rest of us with her extensive background research for this movie—apart from when Alec "FACT-CHECKER!" Barry chimes in. And trust me, you do not want to miss when Cathy shares about the time she had her own close encounter with a Nobel Prize-winning scientist, nor when Steve gets the opportunity to toot his University of Chicago horn—twice. Thank you all for taking part in a wonderful first season! Look for future episodes to be released with a new slate of Barry family relatives and movies in Spring 2024.     Join us for discussion of this buddy cop satire film that gave Rebecca nightmares of small-town England for weeks. Alec shares his "plot mirror" theory about what makes the film brilliant, Rebecca gets squeamish at comedic gore, Danny pulls out an old Martin Freeman reference, and Dad shares why this movie reminds him of his second date with Mom. This is our final discussion originally recorded in 2020. Be prepared for pandemic-era headlines to make an appearance in this episode!
