He didn't think anyone else should either, so he went around proselytizing his views until he was arrested, tried, and condemned by God to lose his ability to speak. Why? Because Korihor wanted a sign proving God's existence. Is there no room for proof in the world of faith?     Nephi was commanded by God to slay a wicked man named Laban in order to obtain scriptures and preserve them for future generations. God then commanded Joseph Smith to discard that very record.
