High Gravity

High Gravity is a show where we talk about beer, brewing, and b******t! Our primary goal is to talk about Michigan goings on in the beer world and local happenings around our beautiful state. Our aim is to present this information in a fun and not too serious way so that everyone from new brewers and beer drinkers to the most seasoned and experienced enthusiasts can enjoy the show! The more we drink during the show, the more comes out and the more fun we have so language CAN get a bit colorful at times though we do our best to keep it in check, most of the time!!     Episode 154: Apocalypse Donkey

    Episode 154: Apocalypse Donkey Mr. Jeff (aka Duffman) once again joins the guys this week with an AMAZING selection of beverages! Mr. Matt joins the show as well and we start right off with one of the new locally sourced Darklord beers!! Moving into the next one, Mr. Darrell shares a story with us from a WILD occurrence over the weekend. Moving on, we talked about some jerky Jim brought that has Johnny ABSOLUTELY TERRIFIED to try, especially since knowing he's DEFINITELY going to do it later... Getting back into some unusual beers following those conversations, we get a bit back to what we're here for, BEER! Mr Darrell tells the tale of his exclusive appearance and interview with the other beer podcast "Better on Draft" (link below). Conversation starts to go a bit offtrack (come on, you MUST have expected this by now...) we talk about some new food from Foundry Craft Kitchen and even a potential food challenge that MAY be coming soon! And then following that, the guys try again to destroy Johnny, you can hear all the fear in his voice going into this ans the reactions take an interesting turn to say the least...     Episode 153: Hello Donkey Thumbs up for Mike is back with the guys this week and I guess Johnny sounded a bit annoyed in the beginning, he DEFINITELY was not I promise but we start out with some general BS before the first beer.     Episode 151: Dark Matter The guys start this week out a bit different with a wonderful and limited release beer from Starr Craft, Dark Matter! Thumbs up for Mike and Mr. Matt join the table again this week as well and we start off RIGHT into the beer sampling! Lots of beer talk, some liquor talk and then more drinking stories, imagine that haha. After a short break following a discussion of Shandys, Darrell makes some wonderful Starr Craft Shandys for the guys and then the show continues!! Darrell mentions a new beverage coming out at the brewery soon, and then a couple songs discussed get Johnny going off on his hatred of them... The guys tell some stories about getting pulled over before getting into the final beer of the evening.     Episode 150: Happy 3rd Birthday

    Episode 150: Happy 3rd Birthday Thumbs up for Mike and Mr. Matt join the guys for tonights episode. Getting into a wonderful new song Brother Darrell made up (yep, you are going to hear it a couple times if you haven't already haha) and then FINALLY getting into the beers of the show. Darrell gets into stories about the Biergarten Games event that happened over the weekend resulting in both he AND Bree from Commercial House will be doing the Polar Plunge fundraiser event in February, more details on that to follow if anyone would like to participate! Kind of zoned out a bit after writing that part, my bad though it was still a good beer related conversation episode among plenty of other BS for our third birthday so just listen and enjoy this weeks episode!     Episode 148: Jims Back With the return of Mr. Jim we kick this episode off with a new guest! You have heard us refer to him and occasionally rope him into a sample or two on the show but we OFFICIALLY welcome our new guest JP! He's a local staple at the brewery as a bartender and on karaoke nights as well and we finally get him to sit in with us on the show! The guys do have a bit of a theme in todays episode, primarily based on "No Rules" as they have quite a selection in the show beer bin.     Episode 147: Till Death Do Us Part We are joined this with with returning guest Mel! AND Jim again being played by Bob this week. I had forgotten when recording that we had Steve and Maureen on awhile back so Bob and Mel were in fact NOT the first husband/wife at the same time HOWEVER, the first ones to have appeared separately and then together! Once again lots of good beers and audience members which makes for wonderful conversations and per our usual mantra, the b******t is VERY plentiful this week, things are ALL OVER THE PLACE! We are again graced with the presence of Darrells new "friend" as well for some technical info on the fly! Oh and be warned, Bob's first drunk story is LONG but lots of funny points and good happy ending.
