    Why We Love The Legal Field❤︎⚖️

    Thank you for listening to our first episode with our new co-host Allison Kight.  We are super excited to bring you more content and more on the legal field and life in law.  I apologize for any phone noise (alerts) or sound issues.  We are still figuring out this whole microphone, two recordings, editing process….it is a work in progress to say the least.  But we will only get better as we go!!     No Risk, No Reward?!

    Thank you for listening to the newest episode of the That Law Life Podcast.  I have 2 corrections— I said “stamina” when talking about the higher ranked law school…I meant “stigma.”  I also mentioned that if you are considering a non-ABA law school you can’t let rumors or gossip mills deter you from the path you feel is best for you (I mentioned this when talking about bar results at the higher ranked law school).  To clarify— most higher ranked law schools do in fact have a higher bar pass rate than non-ABA law schools.  For example, in February 2024, for 1st time takers, the pass rate was 55.1% for graduates of a CA ABA law school and the pass rate was 35.3% from CA Accredited law schools.  However, the Ventura Colleges of Law had a first time pass rate for February 2024 of 45.5% which is not that far behind the ABA pass rate.  Still higher, but we are closing the gap.  If you’d like to see the full February 2024 report, here is the link: https://www.calbar.ca.gov/Portals/0/documents/admissions/Examinations/February-2024-CBX-Statistics.pdf I also talked about other states that may allow non-ABA students to take their bar exam, here are a few links that discuss that information.  Some of this information may be outdated, so make sure you check the specific states website as well. https://www.novus.edu/Bar/styled/statebystate.html https://www.sjcl.edu/admissions/practicing-outside-california As I mentioned in this episode— I do not think that attending a non-ABA law is a good option for everyone, but for those of us who can justify the risk vs. the reward, it might be a good fit.   As always, if you have any questions you can email me at: kathywinkleman@outlook.com, or send me a message on IG @legallykathy and don’t forget to follow me over on TikTok also @legallykathy.     Done with law school...now what??

    Hi guys!!!! I am done with law school!!! 🙌🏾. Graduation is on Saturday, April 20th and I will be posting over on IG and TikTok so go follow @LegallyKathy. In this episode I go a little into a situation I have been dealing with here regarding a lack of diversity and comments made to Masen. If you want to bypass that conversation, fast forward from 12:30 to 17:42.     Week 10 of the Final Semester of Law School

    Hi guys!! Welcome back to the podcast. Not a whole lot to share this week, but I do have some bar prep updates and we have final exams in 23 DAYS!!!! So I plan on starting my full on prep period on Monday, March 18th, and then finals are April 6-7 and we are done baby!!!! Graduation is scheduled for April 20th, and I cannot wait! I have a goal to post 2 videos a week so help keep me accountable LOL Thank you for listening.     I'm Back!!!! I missed you guys!! This is a chatty, random episode so just FYI LOL. I really just wanted to chat and catch you up on everything that has been going on over the past few weeks. I am going to slightly tweak the posting schedule and do new posts every OTHER week instead of every week. Simply because life is starting to get a little more hectic and I really want to have the time to produce quality content.
