    Sydney Weather and Travel Update

Wake Up Sydney brings you the essential start to Monday, 3 August 2026, with the latest on Sydney’s weather, roads and rail network. It’s a bright but changeable winter morning across the city. The Sydney CBD is starting at around 9.8°C and heading for a pleasant top of 23°C, though a shower or two may arrive later. Parramatta is a little cooler at 8.3°C, also reaching 23°C, while Bondi begins the day at 13°C with a forecast top of 21°C. Keep the umbrella handy, just in case. On the roads, commuters should prepare for delays in several key spots. A car breakdown on Victoria Road at West Ryde is causing heavy eastbound traffic approaching Bowden Street. At Hunters Hill, a three-car crash on the Church Street on-ramp to Burns Bay Road northbound is affecting traffic flow. In Strathfield, a car and motorcycle crash on Parramatta Road at George Street has closed one eastbound lane. There are also disruptions around Mascot, where a breakdown on the Southern Cross Drive off-ramp to Botany Road may impact airport-bound traffic, while Kingsgrove is dealing with a truck breakdown on Stoney Creek Road, with lanes closed in both directions. For public transport users, there are significant delays on the Airport and South Line due to urgent track repairs between Tempe and Sydenham. Some trains are being diverted via the Airport Line, stopping at Revesby and Central. Passengers are advised to allow extra travel time, listen for announcements, check station screens and consider changing at Central or using Metro services where available. Tune in to Wake Up Sydney for your quick, clear and reliable update to help you plan the day ahead across Sydney.

Wet Saturday Travel Delays in Sydney

Wake Up Sydney: Weather, Traffic and Trains Update – Saturday, 1 August 2026 Start your Saturday with Wake Up Sydney as we bring you the latest weather, traffic and public transport updates from across Sydney. It’s a cool and damp winter morning, with showers expected across the CBD, Parramatta and Bondi. Temperatures are set to stay mild but chilly, with tops around 16–17°C, so keep your umbrella handy if you’re heading out. On the roads, drivers are being warned of major delays at Eastern Creek after a multi-vehicle crash on the M4 westbound at the Wallgrove Road on-ramp. Lanes one and three are closed, leaving only one lane open, so allow extra travel time or consider an alternate route. For train passengers, extensive planned weekend trackwork is affecting services across the Sydney Trains network. Some services are running to changed timetables with reduced frequency, Liverpool trains are only operating to Lidcombe, and Inner West services are limited between Ashfield and the City Circle. Extra stops are in place on parts of the Leppington and T1 Western lines, while platform and stopping changes are affecting areas around Hawkesbury River, Cowan and Berowra, with replacement buses operating in some sections. T4 services are also altered around Hurstville and Sutherland. The Sydney Metro is currently running without reported incidents. Before you travel, check the latest updates, plan ahead, allow extra time, and stay dry out there, Sydney.
