He has acted and directed on stage in Canada, Britain and in the United States in hundreds of plays, musicals and cabarets. He has won and received multiple nominations for his work on stage and screen winning numerous Leo, Actra and Dora Awards for Theatre. Most recently he received a 2026 Leo Nomination for playing twin brothers in the feature film Blind Owl. David Breakspear - is a lived-experience speaker, justice reform advocate and currently getting his Master of Science degree in Applied Forensic Psychology. Permanently excluded from school at 14, he now uses his journey through the Criminal Justice System to drive change in school exclusion, neurodiversity and rehabilitation. He works across many sectors to promote inclusion, challenge stigma and ensure no one is written off. In July 2025, David was presented with the Freedom of the City of London award for Outstanding Service to the Criminal Justice System.
