Ghost Comms is a podcast about the people behind esports and content creation. Every episode starts with what someone does, but the real question is why. What drives them? How do they think about their craft? What do they believe about competition, success, failure, creativity, and the industry they’re helping build? And how have their experiences shaped the person behind the player, coach, creator, or professional? Hosted by Jatmon, Ghost Comms goes beyond career highlights and surface-level interviews to understand the philosophy behind the person: who they are, how they think, and why they do what they do. New conversations with players, coaches, creators, and other voices across esports.

    A Developer's Thoughts on Rivals

What do players misunderstand about the games they play? Death and Gaming joins Ghost Comms to talk Marvel Rivals from the perspective of a game developer and educational content creator. Drawing on 15 years in development, he shares what goes into making games—and why the changes players ask for aren’t always as simple as they seem. We discuss what makes Rivals work beyond the Marvel name, whether perfect balance actually makes a game more fun, and how the ranked system can reward habits that don’t help your team win. We also get into hero pools, ultimate economy, and the game sense that separates putting up numbers from making winning plays. Then, we tackle the community: toxicity, the responsibility of creators and pro players, and why young people in esports need better mentors. Plus, Death shares his advice for keeping your rank from becoming your entire identity. Subscribe for more Ghost Comms conversations with the creators, players, and people behind Marvel Rivals. What’s the biggest change you’d make to Rivals—or its community?
