The leader ruled out the possibility that the electoral process would be supervised by external observers. On the diplomatic front, Venezuela has begun the gradual restoration of diplomatic relations with Chile and Peru, starting with consular services.  Spain The autonomous city of Ceuta, Spain, is on alert following the arrival of a wave of more than 1,500 irregular migrants over the past ten days from Morocco, driven by the economic hardship and insecurity affecting the African region. The mass migration is interpreted as a consequence of decades of exploitation and the pillaging of resources in the migrant countries of origin, the effects of which ultimately impact the former powers that exploit them.  France The wildfires in France and Spain have stabilized in the main affected areas, allowing about 24,000 people to return to their homes in the Madrid region and more than 145,000 in Southwestern France. However, authorities remain on alert due to a new heat wave and several active fire hotspots.

Mexico Mexico's president, Claudia Sheinbaum, urge The United States to look at itself over its massive drug consumption, drug distribution, and drug related money laundering within its own territory, issues that she said it neither discusses nor takes responsibility for. The president was referring to remarks made by a far right official in the Trump administration who criticized Mexico. Sheinbaum declined to respond directly, explaining that given the serious domestic drug problem facing The US, which she argued, it wants to wash its hands off by shifting responsibility onto other countries. Such statements are nothing more than part of the government's political rhetoric with fewer than a hundred days remaining before the US midterm elections in which Trump's Republican Party is widely predicted to suffer a decisive defeat. United States In The United States, a Department of Homeland Security Regulation will take effect on September 1, establishing fixed periods of stay for foreign students, academics, and journalists.     On today's podcast Peru In Peru, relatives of victims of state repression are calling for nationwide protests against Keiko Fugimori, who assumes the presidency today. Families of people killed during periods of state repression in the eighties, nineties, and the two thousands, including under the governments of Alberto Fugimori, Dina Boluarte, and José Jeri, have organized a candlelight vigil, a nationwide march, and an alternative civic parade to protest Keiko Fujimori's inauguration this Tuesday. They describe her presidency as illegitimate and fraudulent. Iran has rejected US claims that Washington and Teheran are engaged in extensive negotiations. Middle East-United States Iranian officials insist there are no direct talks with The United States. Following three nights of relative calm in military activity, Teheran said the only communication channel currently open is through Oman, focusing on arrangements related to maritime traffic in the Strait Of Hormuz.  Europe And the impact of climate change continues to be felt across Southern Europe. More than 325,000 people have now been evacuated in France and Spain because of devastating wildfires. Weather forecasters are also warning that another wave of extreme heat is expected to sweep across much of France.

    On today's podcast. + Brazil Brazil has recalled its ambassador to Argentina for consultations following insults directed by Milei at Lula, whom he called a thief, ex convict, and bold piece of trash during an event in Sao Paulo to officially launch the presidential candidacy of Flavio Bolsonaro, the son of former president Jair Bolsonaro. In addition, Millet accused Brazil, Mexico, and even the Democratic Party of the United States of financing an anti-Argentina campaign.  Middle East In Palestine, Israeli settlers set fire to mosque vehicles and foreign land in the occupied West Bank as tensions continue to rise across the territory.  China In China, more than 340,000 people have been evacuated due to intense rainfall in Gansu province. Meanwhile, the wildfires affecting Southern Europe have forced the evacuation of more than 350,000 people across France and Spain.

    On today's podcast... Venezuela Today marks 30 days since the twin earthquakes that shook Venezuela, and the government of Acting President Delcy Rodríguez has succeeded in rescuing more than 5,000 people.  It has also already delivered 240 homes to those affected by the disaster, with another 4,000 homes to be delivered by the end of the year and 10,000 more during 2027. On the international front, the government of Rodríguez also recovered more than $300 million of its own funds that has been withheld by the IMF. Those funds will be used for reconstruction, and the government is planning the reconstruction and recovery of the affected areas together with the United Nations.  Iran-U.S. The United States Central Command confirmed the 13th consecutive night of attacks against Iranian territory. Iran corresponded with attacks on U.S. bases in Bahrain, Jordan, and Kuwait, and continues to maintain the closure of the Strait of Hormuz.  Europe And in France, 23,000 people were evacuated due to wildfires that destroyed 2,400 hectares of forest.  Meanwhile, in Madrid, more than 1,200 people have been evacuated as a precaution because of wildfires affecting the countries as well as other parts of Europe.

Venezuela The Acting President of Venezuela, Delcy Rodríguez, held a meeting with the United Nations Coordinator to implement a recovery and assistance plan for Venezuela.  The government aims to deliver 4,000 homes during the remainder of 2026 and another 10,000 homes in 2027.  U.S. - Iran The United States continued its series of missile attacks against Iran, striking strategic locations in the southeast of the country.  Iran has reiterated that it will respond firmly to any attack against its sovereignty, ensuring that the allies of the U.S. see their economic activities damaged.  Climate Change And as a consequence of climate change in Chile, the intense storm system that affected the central and southern regions of the country left four people dead and one missing, in addition to hundreds of people affected, thousands of homes damaged, and widespread power outages across several regions. Meanwhile, in Algeria, the wildfires reported in the north of the country have left six people dead, while emergency crews continue battling dozens of active fires.

Venezuela Venezuela's Acting President, Delcy Rodriguez, handed over more than 240 fully equipped homes to families affected by the June 24th earthquakes.  In addition, the president announced that from July through December, 4,000 homes will be delivered each month, while work is underway to restore more than 10,000 homes across the country. Palestine Palestinian authorities are denouncing an increase in attacks by Israel against Palestinian journalists in recent months.  During the first six months of 2026, 467 incidents targeting media workers have been recorded, according to the Palestinian Journalists' Union.  Yemen And in Yemen, massive demonstrations have been held to express support for the armed forces' decision to impose a maritime blockade on Saudi Arabia, citing its responsibility for the hostilities and for the attacks on the international airport.

    On today's podcast... Peru At this hour in Peru, rescue and relief operations continue following the 5.5 magnitude earthquake that struck the Junín region, about 300 km east of Lima. The quake left at least 6 people dead, 30 injured, around 300 people displaced, about 50 homes destroyed and hundreds more damaged, while the government prepares to declare a state of emergency in the affected area. Venezuela Venezuela is strengthening relief efforts in the areas impacted by the double earthquake, with the reconstructions of buildings and the removal of debris.  So far, about 6,500 people have been rescued and the death toll has exceeded 5,000.  FIFA World Cup And across Spain, thousands of fans celebrated with immense joy and pride the country's FIFA World Cup victory, after defeating Argentina 1-0, filling streets and public squares with songs, flags, hugs and celebrations that lasted for hours. Meanwhile, in Argentina, the defeat left fans overcome with sadness and disappointment, in an atmosphere of restrained emotion, silence and recognition of the national team effort.
