    Hyakumonogatari Kaidankai

Hi friends, welcome to the first SPECIAL EPISODE of Yocast! The word chelsea was trying to think of is "Eierschalensollbruchstellenverursacher". I love German so much. Domestic Doodads

Hello friends! We come to you in this very hot and sticky summer to talk about all things Japanese folklore. As the note at the start of the episode indicates, we're having some mic issues, and really appreciate your patience and NOT turning the podcast off immediately after my dulcet tones blow out the levels for the 15th time. We're still definitely working out the kinks! Main sources for this episode include: The Book of Youkai (Foster) Youkai.com My own mishmash of primary interaction with the topic

    Parlor Poltergeists

In this episode we learn about a particular Japanese house spirit! And look, I actually have sources now! Please be patient with us in our ongoing quest to get this whole audio thing worked out. I suspect Chelsea needs a better mic. Sources: https://visitiwate.com/en/article/4938 https://yokai.com/zashikiwarashi/ https://metropolisjapan.com/zashiki-children-kenji-miyazawa/?

    Toilet Terrors Pt 1

In this episode, we explore one of the horrors found in school bathrooms. Interestingly, this one escaped containment somewhere over the years, and so it might be a story you yourself heard naturally and in situ, so to speak. We apologise for the audio issues on this episode! We're still trying to work the kinks out of levels and things, so just maybe turn down your volume a little so I don't blow your eardrums out.

    Tongue Tied

Welcome to episode two -- this week we have two very interesting youkai!
