    Negotiations Corner | Episode 2: Progress at the Table, Aggressive Pickup, and How Our Pay Rates Were Built

    In Episode 2 of the Negotiations Corner, Alex sits down with Chris Howard for an update from last week’s bargaining sessions and a closer look at several key sections of the contract. In this episode: Progress at the table: The company passed back the Pass Travel & Commuting and Scheduling sections, and ALPA’s finance specialist began exchanging costing information with the company. Low-cost, high-value proposals: Why some items, like aggressive pickup, improve reliability and quality of life without adding real cost. Aggressive pickup, explained: How reservists could pick up open-time trips ahead of time, what that means for commuters, and how it helps the operation. Missed commutes: How the committee is writing language that keeps the company’s decision-making authority but makes it follow a clear, set order of steps. Life on reserve: Why reserve quality of life shapes upgrades, retention, and staffing across our bases.     Episode 11: At the Bargaining Table: Mediation, Unity and Lessons Learned

    MXY MEC Chair Capt. Alex Kluge sits down with Capt. Sean Creed, former Spirit pilot and former ALPA vice president–administration/secretary, for a firsthand look at the mediation and negotiation process. Drawing from his experience leading Spirit pilots through years of mediation, a 30-day cooling-off period and ultimately a strike, Creed shares lessons that are especially relevant as MXY pilots enter mediation.
