Underplayed or Overrated - S2E10 - Deep Cuts - The Taylor Swift Episode

It may be a day late and a buck short but here we are with the grand finale of Season Two. Looks like we made it. Come on one last ride with us for this run as we try to find some answers to a big, big question: "Why is Taylor Swift so damn huge"? Not physically, she may be tall but I don't think anyone has ever referred to her as "huge". No, of course we mean how gosh darn popular she's become. The mystery lies in her not really having a "Thriller", or an album so packed full of hits it made her the biggest music act on the planet. Instead, Taylor has slowly grown from tiny teenage country sensation into being one of the most famous people on the planet, a billionaire from music alone and holder of more records than you can shake a stick at. How have things fallen into place for her to rise to the top of the music industry? What's the cost? How much of the shade that gets thrown at her is true? Join Tom and Paddy as they draw the curtain on Season Two with Deep Cuts: The Taylor Swift Episode. If you've joined us on this ride through musical trivia and killer albums in this season, are a season one vet, or are listening to us for the first time. Thank you. We'll catch you in season 3. Underplayed or Overrated will return. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

Get those headphones on and come with us on a journey through Faith No More's The Real Thing on this episode of Underplayed or Overrated. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

Underplayed or Overrated - S2E8 - Paramore - Riot

This week on Underplayed or Overrated, Tom and Paddy get to sit down and break down a record that holds a dear place in both of their hearts. Riot by Paramore was the soundtrack to many an angsty teen's glory days, and that rings true for both Tom and Paddy. This album broke the mould on what a modern, female-fronted band could do, proving the music was as important as the image. Still, does the album still hold up today, well over a decade later? Sit back and listen to us find out on today's episode. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
